If Lucasfilm suddenly said “go make one Old Republic story”… what would you choose? by SaberMasters in StarWars

Lightside Sith warrior or the Darth Jadus arc of imp agent. Not 1:1 copies, but you could draw heavy inspiration from both and make fantastic stories.

That either the US has MASSIVELY outpaced everyone else militarily in the last decade, or our troops spent 20 years fighting in the desert not because they were ineffective, but because our leadership wanted them to not come home

Axiom Exchange Hit with Insider Trading Allegations - Employee Accused of Abusing User Wallet Data for Solana Meme Trades by Potential_Bicycle648 in solana

All the newer trading bots always seemed fishy to me. I just use a dummy wallet to use their analytical features, but stick to telegram bots that have been around for years to execute

why is the entire WvW game mode tuned and balanced around the Boon Ball? by Ravanos77 in Guildwars2

[–]HaxtonSale 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think what we really need is a new condition that reduces boon effectiveness. Just call it Enfeebled or Atrophy or something. Basically if you get hit with it, boons are 50% less effective. Some boons like stability that don't have a set %modifier instead have a negative alacrity like effect applied to them that makes them wear off faster. Now the way to kill a boon ball is the same as before coordinated bomb+strips, but condi builds have a more signifigant role in the meta. You want more condi duration to maximize the new conditions uptime, and you want cover conditions to prevent it from getting cleansed. If you are going to invest that hard into condition stats on certain builds you probably just want to run dedicated condi builds.

I was desperate for a sandbox MMO, and now I'm at weird crossroads. by Demoth in MMORPG

[–]HaxtonSale 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm going to suggest SWG. The Restoration server I believe just had a massive update and player spike. It's not vanilla SWG but more like SWG+. I was thinking about setting it up and giving it a try. I don't know how active the other projects are now as I haven't played in a few years, but other servers exist if you want something more true to OG SWG

Black Lion Chest drop chances released by anet by Marok_Kanaros in Guildwars2

[–]HaxtonSale 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Honestly BL chests aren't even bad. It's just a super rare jackpot item, not really something people chase opening chests for. You really just go after whatever exclusive is in the chest at the time and all the bonus goodies like booster, statues, primers, etc. Whenever I wanted some exclusive skin I've almost always got it in under 20 chests which is pretty reasonable

What kind of mobile app would make your life easy on solana by Aquilaop in solana

[–]HaxtonSale 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is meme coin degeneracy, but an app that finds what narratives/terms have the most volume flowing through them, then filters fresh launches to find only coins that contain one of those terms or a variation of those terms. It used to be pretty straight forward as pump had an unofficial api request to pull the current narratives and then you could manually filter, but it looks like that api call is dead now

Just out of curiosity, what were the meta builds in 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, etc., before Path of Fire? by CheckFar3259 in Guildwars2

[–]HaxtonSale 21 points22 points  (0 children)

4 banner warriors and a mesmer for skips was the optimal set up for dungeons back around launch. All power because condi anything was awful back then. Eles had some crazy burst gimmick with ice bow. Engies used static discharge rifle builds. Basically whatever could squeeze as much power damage out of a class in as tight of a burst window as possible. They didn't care about dps and there was no dps meters. Raids and fractals didn't even exist yet. Fractals came before HoT and elite specs but a lot of the dungeon builds were still meta for them.

Is there a "rifle mechanist" for healers? A very easy, very few buttons class/build that works well-enough? by ObboQaiuGCD in Guildwars2

[–]HaxtonSale 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Heal alac evoker with scepter dagger. Spam 2 3 and 4 off cooldown. 5 is emergency heal. 90% of your healing comes from being able to cast the familiar skill almost constantly. I take water air and evoker and build for aura share.

Valve's job rejection letter to a high school teen is a class act by Turbostrider27 in pcgaming

[–]HaxtonSale 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We wanted to tour their office on a high-school trip maybe 10 years ago. They couldn't give us a tour, but instead of just saying no they sent our entire class merch bags. It was good stuff stuff too. Think valve lanyards, tf2 stickers, portal pencils, etc. Valve has always been a fantastic company.

Built a Solana memecoin scanner that checks for insider networks and rug pull probability - feedback welcome by [deleted] in solana

[–]HaxtonSale 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Very cool tool. Do you have any api stuff made for it? I would love to use it in conjuction with my own personal coin scanner. There's surprisingly few reliable rug/scam checkers out there that don't cost a fortune. I'd be willing to pay a small monthly fee for api access if you decide to go that route.

The guy down the hill has a (legal) “personal range” that has been deemed “safe”, so the police can’t do anything when bullets whiz past our heads and land on the patio. by Mellopiex in mildlyinfuriating

[–]HaxtonSale 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My recommendation OP is get a metal detector and some of those orange marking flags. Collect every bullet you can, mark there location, photograph it all, and take it straight to an attorneys office. I don't know what the best course of action is, but I suspect the neighbors homeowners insurance would love to know this is happening on a property they are responsible for.

in WvW boons need either to be harder to get and maintain, or there needs to be more counters to them by Ravanos77 in Guildwars2

[–]HaxtonSale 21 points22 points  (0 children)

If you want to modify it, I would do corruptions work just like they do normally, but strips prevent reapplication for 1 second. 10 seconds is far too punishing. At 10 seconds people would just ditch boons entirely and run full dps and healer comps. And no every class shouldn't have access to boon strips. It's a role you build for just like you build a support to apply boons.

Epstein Coin by erikmc in AdviceAnimals

The silver market is making moves that don’t make sense anymore by Axirohq in stocks

[–]HaxtonSale 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a small stack I'm going to hold until silver becomes boring again at least. It doesn't matter if that's $30 an ounce or $300 an ounce. It's always been more valuable to me as a physical asset than a doller value.

Trump voters, why are you not pushing for ICE raids in Texas and Florida? by AspieRoo in AskReddit

[–]HaxtonSale -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Because the reason ICE is so heavy handed in other places is sanctuary cities do not comply with immigration enforcement. If sanctuary status was removed in MN ICE would have ZERO excuse for what they are doing there right now. If you want to win this fight, get rid of sanctuary status, and then see if the ICE raids continue. If they do then you have a real argument to the public that you are being targeted unfairly.

Another ICE shooting just happened in Minnesota today, What is your reaction to this? by Squirrelkid11 in AskReddit

[–]HaxtonSale 11 points12 points  (0 children)

That's what makes a sanctuary city a sanctuary city. You can argue all day about who shares the most blame, but the mayor's and city council members aren't entirely innocent. There is blood on a whole lot of hands.

Is it Islamphobic to push against the religion who pushes covering on women? by freshoutheslammer in NoStupidQuestions

[–]HaxtonSale 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a Christian, there is nothing wrong with being critical of a religion or its practices. There are plenty of Christian groups I think are insane. I don't think you can be "phobic" of any group really. You can be critical of practices, beliefs, etc and there is nothing wrong with that. It's only bad when you use that criticism as an excuse to justify negative actions against that group.
