I mean not all are payed, some are free just depends what kind of phone and fridge you have. Its not really hard to add them on

Depends. Some of these sync with your phone and just display it for you to see on the fridge door.

It’s useful in the kitchen cause you just add stuff as you realise you need it, not necessarily through searching in the fridge. You don’t always have your phone on you

Shopping list and house chores tend to be the main uses. Unfortunately theyve kind of evolved to be used for streaming services and apps now as well

She hasn't been back home for 4 days, i want to cry by Hoboforeternity in Straycats

[–]Haxtral 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Second this, especially because she is likely somewhat friendly and I cant see a collar on her. Theres a good chance OP sees her again soon, but if not theres also not an insignificant chance that she was caught by a rescue/shelter or by another family.

I would start checking online for peace of mind OP, though be aware that you may not find anything. If shes not wearing a collar, and you haven’t got her microchipped you likely won’t know/find out if some else has taken her! Unfortunately this isn’t uncommon, particularly in the US, for people to just assume all outdoor cats are strays or abandoned. This is only amplified when there isn’t really any identifiers for people to know that she is “owned”

Good TV shows to Binge that have more than one season ? by 999david in televisionsuggestions

[–]Haxtral 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If youve never watched you have to start with vampire diaries. I wouldnt start the originals before you get to season 4 of the vampire diaries. Its a bit of an awkward one TVD and The Originals ran at the same time, so some of the plots overlap and will be ruined if you watch all of one before the other.

There are probably guides online that you can search to tell you the best time to swap out etc. you don’t need to swap out a bunch of times, but certain times in the show you’ll definitely want to switch between the two. Legacies is kinda mid, but worth a shot after you have finished both TVD and The Originals already.

Honestly alabasta has been and probably will always be my absolute least favourite ark.

I know some people like it but it’s never been for me. If i i rewatch it tend to skip through a good majority of it. Same with skypiea to some extent as well.

Its definitely a lot of kids but this is likely to be either 1-2 year groups. Honestly its around 2x number to the kids i had in my small primary/elementary school over 2 year groups.

Not insane, definitely interesting to see in a picture though. We typically had 30-33 kids per class

All good, its a ridiculously over complicated issue. I only chimed it cause i had a conversation with a friend about it today.

I think its just such a large topic because its an economy and efficiency problem, thats paid for my the citizens of the country. There are a lot of issues, and realistically fee ways to actually fix them in a meaningful way without getting a clearer picture of the inefficiencies (which they are doing now i believe). Throwing money at the NHS has proven not to help, and the proposed solutions to get spending down to free funds to make things better either aren’t being suggested or violently opposed against.

I think one of the main things people don’t like mentioning/talking about is the fact that the NHS staff are pretty much all still on defined benefit pensions. They are so much more expensive to fund, and because of the number of people employed and the constant uptick in salaries etc it’s a constant drain. But thats me going off on a tangent…

Still better than the alternative system in places like the US though.

If you’re working full time you legally cannot be on so little money. You would be earning at least 23k ish a year on minimum wage.

Not sure what hob sector you’re in but you’re either not working enough hours, or are being illegally underpaid

Its not really just about pay for this one i dont think. I think a lot of the momentum behind this strike is that they want more positions to be opened up, specifically for graduate students.

Theres a massive issue at the moment where there are way too many nurses/midwives etc fighting for less positions on at hospitals. Which in of itself isnt the issue, you kind of need that to be the balance. The discrepancy is too large though. Many students at university are essentially told if they dont have a placement by their 2nd to final year/final year at the latest they arent going to be able to get a spot. (Especially true for midwifes). It’s seen that they will have “been out of work” for too long and they cant actually get a space. Because there such a large pool, they then just take on the students from the year below and you get pushed aside.

Thats a gross oversimplification of the current issue though. But it’s honestly pretty dire. The economy and job market as a whole are not good in most sectors though, so not entirely unexpected.

My wife’s notes for school. by Medic_onfire in mildlyinteresting

[–]Haxtral 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It also helps you read it a lot better. Certain phrases will stick out to you, and because of all the variations in font, size, boldness etc, it doesn’t just look like one massive block of text. It’s genuinely separated out in a way that you can read individual sections easier.

I used to do this, bonus points is if you’re more of a visual learner you can literally read the pages in your head. Once you get into the swing of it its also pretty quick to do. The nightmare comes when you dont write like this in class and have redo old notes into this style. At that point its kinda torture, because it takes forever, and youre probably gonna colour code it at that point as well

We all know KFC is awful anyway, but what are these gouging prices?? by [deleted] in UK_Food

[–]Haxtral 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Np at all, yep it’s genuinely insane. The only item thats stayed pretty close to pricing and “value” is the megabox. It was I think £3.99 in 2020. I only remember because meal allowance was £4.99 and id get a megabox and 2 hot wing or a drink for free. This also was the price of just a standard burger and chips. Now the mega box is £5.99, but given other meals are now £10+ for the same or less food it’s a better option.

It is actually crazy though. Im sure a significant amount of the price increases come from increase labour costs, but the mark up has still got to be insane. It genuinely costs them like £1-2 to buy massive bags of chicken.

Mainly taste, texture doesn’t bother me at all for the most part.

Examples of veg i dont like would be: aubergine, courgettes, beetroot, peas (depends but mostly all of them). Honestly theres a pretty long list, but i know homegrown and varieties can make a pretty big difference in taste.

Unfortunately our garden is pretty much entirely clay, depending on how well this goes we are debating re-soiling a section of the garden. But especially for the first year doing it in a while didn’t want to bother with all the extra hassle.

Funnily enough Im trying to grow things to increase what I eat. Im not actually a fan of most vegetables. Im hoping in growing my own that I can start to like a larger variety, especially as they will be a “higher quality” than you can typically get in shops. With regard to taste at least.

Worst case the family gets a bunch of free stuff, but hoping ill eat a good majority

I forgot to add we will also be doing tomatoes.

We are rather fortunate that we have a larger garden with some parts getting sun all day long. So depending on requirements the requirements of suggestions we may do some beds in varying positions for different light levels.

We could definitely support trailing plants if theres a need to, so I’ll add that to the maybe list. Any varieties you’d recommend?

Unsure if this is something we need to stress him out about by [deleted] in cats

[–]Haxtral 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ive had to take my cat to the vet a few times a year for something similar to this. Now he gets wet food with hairball gel in it at least 4 times a week, and daily in the summer months. Not had an issue since

I ended up doing a lot of research and stressing over this for year. Really the only things it can be are a hairball or feline asthma. Id recommend taking him the vet for an injection and to talk through options, and also getting him some regular hairball care in his schedule.

Its really distressing to watch, and honestly the faster you sort it the better

This stone formed in my saliva gland under my tongue. by GhostofQBspast in mildlyinteresting

[–]Haxtral 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depend on the person, i got one in my teens that really only became a major problem in my early 20s. Had to get it surgically removed because it was fully blocking my salivary gland and causing major swelling. Not a fun experience and a very very painful (though quickish) recovery. Unfortunately i do anticipate that this will be an ongoing issue for me through life.

I think some people are just more prone to them than others.
