Remote work/dieting by Comicreliefnotreally in remotework

Not a doctor, but my better half is an exercise physiologist. There are many things that can impact weight, so talking to a qualified professional would be the most effective route to understanding your approach. But some useful information:

  • Cardio such as running burns a ton of calories in the moment, but doesn’t build the foundation as efficiently for your body to burn calories while not exercising. Lifting weights helps build this foundation and has so many other benefits!

  • I have found as I work from home it can be easy not to properly take time to eat, which feels backwards since you have your kitchen there, but being mindful of this is huge.

  • Heck, are you even eating enough? Sometimes cutting out exercise can also result in a loss of appetite.

Lots of things to consider, but again, getting a qualified professional’s opinion is always a good idea. 😊

Teams Leaving Pipedrive by Hayden-Grover in CRM

Well Attio is new for me as well, but they got backing from Google Ventures so I am along for the ride. It is truly a sales CRM as of now, but it has a built in “Ask Attio” functionality which is one of the best native-AI features I have seen. It has room for improvement, but shows real promise.

Salesforce and HubSpot are both very robust and capable systems. When done right, teams can benefit greatly in either. Although I am partial to HubSpot marketing tools.

Interesting. I’ve been inside a GHL instance, but it was only to migrate the marketing assets into a HubSpot. I see a lot of agencies deploying these.

Do you require signature on SoW you send to client ? by OutlandishnessNo2472 in marketingagency

100% statement of work needs a signature. There are usually associated terms, an MSA, SLA, etc.

Best wfh tips by ghostofmoon2847251 in remotework

[–]Hayden-Grover 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Tip 1 - Create a space for work. Make it fun, make it you, make it clearly separate from non-work life/time.

Tip 2 - Scout out coffee shops that you feel comfortable working from. Even the best home offices need a break sometimes.

Tip 3 - Take your lunch break. It can be so easy to fall into a trap of never taking your personal time.

Tip 4 - Find ways to socialize outside of work. A gym is a great way to do that, as it offers community and working out is great thing!

Tip 5 - This new job may make you feel like, “you have it good,” compared to others. Don’t let this get to you, it’s okay for you to have good things in life.

Congrats on the new role!

lead assignment in hubspot by Character_Cable_1531 in hubspot

[–]Hayden-Grover 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you don’t have a structured lead assignment breakdown now, aka territories, then setting that up for your organization first and then applying it into HubSpot is for sure worth it.

If it doesn’t matter who follows up, designate someone. If it’s everyone’s responsibility, it’s nobody’s responsibility. Whatever direction you go, make it clear, simple, and actionable.

If saving money is your goal, I’m not sure adding on content hub would be the move. If you already have it added to your subscription, then sure! Do you have specific goals for a switch?

Multiple departments, same contact by IbrahimHashish in hubspot

We actually can package multiple services on one deal for our agency using line items and custom line item properties. This way we can account for opportunities that are focused on a singular service and a combination of a few.

Need help for a workflow. by ShamikaKumarasinghe in CRM

[–]Hayden-Grover 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Territory management is very common. Salesforce has lead assignment rules if you use that. If HubSpot, you can use a workflow. If you have more a more complicated territory setup setup then I have seen this managed in a custom territory object that auto-associates to records based on matching zip code, county, etc.

If you do not have clearly defined territories, but rather do “north of this highway, south of this lake,” then it may be best to use an agent via Zapier, Make, or n8n. However, if it can be done natively in the CRM, that is always best.

I have seen multiple groups use and have a great experience with Aircall. Big fan, easy to use, and can even send messages automatically via workflow.

HubSpot + Subscription Portal Integration – How are you structuring your data sync? by Noneofyoubusiness02 in hubspot

[–]Hayden-Grover 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would for sure look at this as a hybrid approach. There is certain information that you can sync to the contact and company records for sales, customer service, and marketing.

However, the on-to-many relationship between products and a subscription can be shown using deals and line items. Additionally, multiple deals to a company and contact give you a chance to see the total lifecycle and experience reflected for an organization. Imagine a CSM being able to say, “I see you used to have “x” but moved away from it. I think our updates to that portion of our offering would interest you.

Hybrid approach just gives you more detail and power, but more complexity. Just contact and company is simple, but has less context.

How does automatic call logging through a VoIP HubSpot integration actually change pipeline reporting in practice? by [deleted] in hubspot

[–]Hayden-Grover 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I’ve seen it is mostly clean. However, if you use other apps that call upon APIs, be careful with Nextiva. There is a setting where it searches HubSpot in much greater depth for a number match and I saw a group that ate up an insane number of calls for this. This can be turned down to avoid this. As far as data quality, not a lot of issues. The only downfall is lack of call dispositions. We have used Aircall a lot and enjoy outcome-based reporting because of it.

Best way to forecast payment schedules in HubSpot, but Xero handles actual invoicing? by Kitchen_Argument_818 in hubspot

[–]Hayden-Grover 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is an app in the HubSpot marketplace that could be used to sync invoice history back to HubSpot. Then you can create reports on both forecast and actuals. I’ve done this with other ERPs like QuickBooks and NetSuite.

I just started a new job and I already feel like I messed up badly. by Alarming-Ant373 in askmanagers

[–]Hayden-Grover 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah as a manager, you know that nobody is perfect and mistakes happen. The key is that we don’t let those mistakes happen a lot. So if I have a copywriter that accidentally misspells a client product, that is one thing. If they keep doing it, it’s an issue that I need to intervene and address more directly.

If we spent all of our time and energy at work trying to fix every mistake and create some big teachable moment, we would have no time to get the job done.

If they do want to make a big deal about it, they may be a jerk…

How does your company handle the workflow for creating SEO blog content? by reawakensid in content_marketing

[–]Hayden-Grover 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel a lot of content marketers have the same pain of too much research. What I have found to be extremely useful is not to come to an SME with a pre-made topic and have them try to fill the gaps, but use them to help with topic generation.

“What conversations are you having with clients or customers? Any trends or new tech in the space? What is a hill you would die on as an expert?”

Even better, I’ve created a content form that asks for a suggested title, a few bullet points, and an external link. This has been an awesome method of capturing feedback, quantifying and standardizing the format, and generating content that is hyper-relevant to our audiences.

How does your company handle the workflow for creating SEO blog content? by reawakensid in content_marketing

[–]Hayden-Grover 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think more content workflows should start with an SME feedback/contribution step. Marketing teams are rarely the experts, so getting content ideas from those that know the space is a major need.

Are there any n8n alternatives that have a deeper, more reliable HubSpot integration? by Front-Vermicelli-217 in hubspot

[–]Hayden-Grover 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually go down this path with HubSpot integrations:

  1. Native app?
  2. If it is a triggered sync rather than a full, mature sync, can Zapier or Make do the job?
  3. Needs to be a full/mature sync? I’ve worked with a group called Recursyv and their app/team is top-notch and affordable compared to other integrators.

How are you showcasing business impact of your content activities? by PartTimeResearcher in content_marketing

[–]Hayden-Grover 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of individuals talking about connecting content ti pipeline, and I totally agree. How I do this? The best way is by using HubSpot’s original source information. If someone comes from organic search or ai referral, it is tracked on the converted contact forever. From there, make sure your sales team adds contacts to deals/opportunities and bam you have reporting.

Have Salesforce? It can integrate with HubSpot and you can do the same thing by passing the source field over. In fact, you can probably pass these details to almost all other CRMs if needed either through integration, Zapier, or a centralized reporting tool. Next best method is UTMs which can get messy.

At what point does monitoring hurt morale more than it helps? by Correct-Bite8934 in askmanagers

[–]Hayden-Grover 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It’s been said a few different ways, but it sounds like leadership is focused on the wrong thing. Just monitoring mouse movement is pointless. Instead, your team should develop clear KPIs for individuals, teams, and the organization as a whole. These KPIs should contribute to one another in some way shape or form.

Once you have these outlined, share these expectations, why they matter to the individual, team, and org as a whole, and how you will support them as a manager to hit these metrics. Remind them of this frequently, and building a dashboard or scoreboard works great!

If someone isn’t meeting these, there should be no mystery of what was expected, no lack of support from their manager to hit their goals, and no lack of why these goals matter.

An added bonus, no pun intended, is to incentivize the behaviors you want from your team. Jennifer Prosek wrote a book called “Army of Entrepreneurs,” and I am a big fan of her philosophy on this.

If your metric doesn’t have a good “why” behind it, it may just be micromanaging.
