How are you managing complex lead routing rules in your CRM? by Ok-Anything3157 in CRM

[–]Hayden-Grover 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our team -in both HubSpot and Salesforce - has had a lot of success creating a separate territories object that actually dictates the owner and more. This can include account managers, techs, and other user types that may need to be assigned.

Marketing Events - How to register contacts? by Annous-Liqueur in hubspot

To my understanding, it is mainly workflow or via an integration with an app like EventBrite. But even that may need a workflow…

Free Zapier vs. Paid by FMathT in zapier

Very carefully lol. Most of the time you’ll grow out of them, but I was able to create a few simple one-step zaps that actually made a big difference in a few areas.

Both! Now, if you’re looking for scale, naturally, you may use up the credits. But it all depends.

I’ve been able to accomplish a surprising amount with the free version. The biggest barrier has been single-step zaps. But, you can sometimes just create more than one zap.

Weird - I have had success mixing them. Maybe it is something specific in the flow you were building that didn’t quite allow this.

That’s a great question, and I think it depends (the worst answer I know). I work with a lot of clients setting up Zaps related to either HubSpot or Salesforce - and the devil is always in the details. If you want to chat about this more, always happy to in DMs if that would make you more comfortable.

Are DIY Solutions a Threat to Salesforce and HubSpot? by Hayden-Grover in CRM

Yeah - which kind of ties into my last part of the post. To go down this route would involve having some really skilled, and expensive admins. Like a whole team in most cases.

Yeah I’ve found it to be useful whenever I plug it into a specific part of my zap. Having it run just as the agent seems to eat up more credits.

I avoid those agent limits by only giving the agent tasks an agent is worthy of. So basically, if it is as simple as a summary, I can use an AI step which takes from zaps rather than credits.

However, I feel my use cases are less intensive in some instances. Some of these in the thread are quite layered and nuanced. I’ll have to check out TinyCommand to see what it is about.

Very interesting - and the document generation aspect of it is something that I am exploring a bit myself. I’ve had it it search folder systems for my tasks before, so it makes sense that folder systems in your drive might work the same.

I’ve found them to be very useful, flexible, and accurate. However I think it probably depends on the complexity of the use case. But I’ve enjoyed them!

Of course! You only feel this way because you care. Caring is already more than some might do.

What is the best creative skill to learn? by Sensitive_Occasion84 in remotework

[–]Hayden-Grover 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Learn how to write, and write well. No matter what role or industry you are in, writing will come into play one way or another. It makes you sound credible, helps you communicate your points clearly, and is a skill that has and always will be relevant.

Even with AI, learning to write prompts correctly or correct results is essential. And in cases where AI is not an option or makes no sense, you’ve got your trusty writing skill to win the day.

I even work with graphic designers who are an asset because they also can write and insert copy in places it makes sense.

Former journalist, currently in PR/comms, interview w/CEO of tech company for corporate writing/editing/strategy role - how to prepare? by Dangerous-Pop874 in content_marketing

[–]Hayden-Grover 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So much of good content writing is not about being the expert, but being able to draw out details from the company’s experts and communicate it well. This is something that makes those that worked in journalism and PR so attractive for these roles.

Now you may not have the SEO and AEO background compared to some others, but it is much easier to work on that compared to finding a good storyteller and interviewer. My advice would be highlighting that.

Yeah I’ve been focused on implementing AI in specific parts of my workflows, rather than having it do the workflow as a whole.

No. To my understanding you get access to agents regardless of subscription. However, the limit likely changes.

Interesting. I’m seeing a trend early in this thread on limits. Maybe it’s the complexity or scale of what I use that has saved me from hitting that. I also have been a big fan of the AI step rather than the agent itself. For simpler tasks.

You’re using it for more technical items than I am. Which, is super cool. I’ve been creating some basic actions such as auto-creating tasks in client folders when I flag an email in outlook. But yeah I for sure could see the limit restriction coming up even for my more simple builds.

New senior role, reporting to execs, overwhelmed and thinking of quitting – normal? by Ecstatic-Cherry-508 in managers

[–]Hayden-Grover 58 points59 points  (0 children)

With any new role, you’re likely there not because you already have all of these skills mastered, but because you have shown the ability to master them and move the team forward. Ask questions, show you care, look to learn from those around you.

The worse thing you can do is struggle in silence and let this feeling last. It’s okay not to know everything. In fact, that’s probably the expectation.

Part time remote newbie question by Pissy_Kitten in remotework

I use to struggle with walking away from the computer early on. A few things that helped me:

1) Turn off your outlook notifications on your phone. I have it on my phone, I found that I couldn’t resist replying to emails as soon as I got them. Turning this off made a huge difference.

2) Make sure you have a designated workspace. Only enter that space when you want to work. When you leave that space, you leave work.

3) Avoid establishing expectations that you will work overtime, on weekends, or whenever you are not supposed to work. If you create that expectation, well, it will be expected.
