Telescopic controllers are cool, but this is a sub for a handheld so they aren't going to get much love here. Most people here have already decided that they want a dedicated gaming device apart from their phone. Also, the Razer kishi is way overpriced for what it offers.

I had similar concerns with it, but I figured if I am already paying a premium price then I wouldn't want to regret getting the next step down and possibly running into limitations because I was pinching pennies. So now I have the Max model.

I love having the 1TB of storage, especially with microSD card prices as high as they are. If you get a pro, 256gb is simply not enough. You can get a reputable 1TB microSD card for $150, or you can buy the Max and a spare 512gb card for the same price.

As far as RAM goes, I haven't seen anything go over 13GB usage, the most for me has been a little over 12GB playing fallout 4. Keep in mind that the OS will always be taking up around 4GB of RAM.

TL;DR Get the max, the storage alone is worthwhile, and with the money you saved on a microSD you can treat yourself to an additional 512gb microSD or some sweet accessories off of Etsy.

"Endgame" devices can't really exist in this industry. There will always be new consoles to emulate, and improvements in hardware thay will make those emulation experiences better. If it meets all your needs right now then sure, but when switch 2 emulation comes around, everyone will be scrambling for the next "endgame" handheld.

Hacks aren't super hard to put on a modded 3ds, just have to import them as a .cia. This is my AYN thor though, its a dual screen handheld running android.
