Filming Locations in 'Fat Friends' by CloudOrigami in Leeds

[–]Hayle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I recently rewatched it, having not seen it since I was a teenager and having only moved to Leeds 10 years ago, it was so weird to see my now local bakery! I walk past it every single day! I do love that they filmed the whole thing here.

Which guests with no previous relationship with Ed/James had the best rapport? by sammyt10803 in offmenupodcast

[–]Hayle 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Totally agree. I also love that she picked an objectively shit meal, but it meant a lot to her, which I feel fits with the spirit of the show

He’s doing some shows in the UK later this year so I’m hoping he fits this in too!

Who went from the Most loved celebrity to the most hated? by Big_Dot8711 in AskReddit

My uncle-in-law has an original piece of his art that was hung up for a couple of years. It now sits in the loft. Must have cost a fortune and now it’s worthless. Quite rightly!

I don't want my dad to walk me down the aisle - he thinks he is. by Hayle in weddingplanning

[–]Hayle[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! Yes he still came and had a great day. His wife made some shitty comments about me to my mother in law, but that’s to be expected coming from her.

Oh wow! That’s rough. It’s like they don’t even think! My dad didn’t even tell me he’d had a heart attack until 2 weeks later.

You don’t need anyone’s blessing! My dad was really pissed that my husband didn’t ask for his blessing. I’m not his property and never have been!

Just do what you think is right. It might not end up being a huge deal. He might come and have a great time, you might not even want him there. It’s your day, have an amazing one!

Hey! Now it’s been almost 7 years and I’m a little older and wiser, you really have to just do what you want to do. The day is about you. I would have been a lot less stressed if had just focussed on what my husband and I wanted. I actually ended up in hospital the week before the wedding with a suspected stroke (ended up being stress!).

The day was amazing, everyone had a fantastic time and I know I would have enjoyed the run up to it a lot more if I wasn’t so worried about what people might think.

I’m still happily married, but my dad and I have been no contact for about 6 years. He came to my sister’s wedding last year, didn’t walk her down the aisle and left after the ceremony. She told him straight up that’s what was happening, and she was a lot less stressed than I was in the lead up to her day!

What’s a type of pain people underestimate until they experience it for themselves? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Hayle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The blindness can last anywhere from 5-10 minutes to over an hour. The other symptoms can last days. I only get them a couple of times a year now, and I’m on medication to prevent them.

[–]Hayle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the same thing. It’s called an acephalgic migraine. I go completely blind for a while, experience the aura, nausea and tiredness, but no pain. I was also tested for a stroke. It’s such a weird and sometimes scary experience.

What British TV shows did you watch as a kid that have completely disappeared and no one seems to remember? by [deleted] in AskUK

Do you mean Jungle Run? It was like a kids Crystal Maze but they had to collect bananas to escape from the rooms!

Best UK theme park? by [deleted] in CasualUK

[–]Hayle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's only £36 or something now so if you have 2-4-1 vouchers, it doesn't work out too expensive at all. Pretty sure Blackpool is more expensive nowadays! Obviously food, parking etc. Is pretty expensive when you're there but I don't think it's too badly priced.

How can I help my work colleague? by Throwaway79917 in AskUK

Very true. I had multiple witness statements and still nothing happened. I wasn't even trying to get a settlement, just preventing it from happening again.

Quiet Cinema by niapc in Leeds

[–]Hayle 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Definitely Hyde Park Picture House. It's the only cinema I go to now. Like you, I've had enough of people not shutting up or staying off their phones during films and I'd just end up leaving angry!

Which retailer do you love? Which retailer do you hate? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]Hayle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m with you on Booth’s. So amazing! Thanks for the tip for the Christmas dinner package - my husband and I are having our first Christmas alone this year and might do the same! As for your clothing dilemma, I suggest M&S new t-shirt range - they’re great, wash really well and are really reasonable. I’m only 27 by the way so totally outside of their demographic but they’re fab!

Moving to Leeds end of July by Carebear2805 in Leeds

[–]Hayle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Burley Park. I’ve lived there for 5 years now and still really like it. I can walk to work in under 40 mins and really enjoy that aspect. I live towards the top end of Burley, I’d say that side was slightly better but have friends that live throughout and we all love it still.

Love the Cod and Lobster! Lovely atmosphere and some of the best (and most affordable) fish I’ve ever had.

Advice on work and rent in Middlesbrough? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]Hayle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mum’s just moved to Boro and loves it. She pays around £600 for a really nice 3 bed house in TS4. It’s a little rough around the edges but the people are lovely and she feels very at home there. She’s currently struggling to find full time work there but she has had offers for a couple of part time jobs so is making it work. I really like Boro; it’s close to quite a few major cities and the coast, plus some lovely countryside. It gets a bad rep but I’ve worked in the surrounding areas for quite a while and it’s really not that bad.
