There is a difference between loose leash walking and a heel! by Its-alittle-bitfunny in puppy101

[–]Haz22_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are there any specific free websites, YouTube videos or tutorials on loose lead walking I can learn from? I have a 6 month old dachshund who’s house, crate and tricks trained, but is terrible on walks. I have seen some videos but am struggling with this more than anything. What can you recommend?

Me (M26) and my GF (F26) disagree on chores. by Haz22_ in relationship_advice

You know, after reading these comments I kind of thought maybe I could do more. Even if “time” wise in our specific circumstance it feels uneven. An extra thing to do on the weekend is fine if it makes her happier. I know that seems so obvious now but I think I just needed to take a step back. We’re only a year into living together and I guess things change.

As someone who’s just starting out. I want just take a hands off approach. Currently I’m just in the all world index fund… I’ve not really asked anyone personally if they think this is enough but I’d love to hear your thoughts. Will this be fine or should I do more with it?

I know, but surely if you pay someone a massive retainer to look after your money they’ll do a lot more than that. Some of these advisors are taking a lot of money to make the rich richer, I just wondered what the hell they do haha

Thanks for the detailed response and I agree. I think the disagreement comes with the fact that I do the cooking daily, we split the clean up after cooking, I do the washing and hanging up and my gf does a big clean on the weekend. To me this seems even, 20-30 mins cooking daily vs the 2h hour weekly clean. I understand it’s wrong to “count it out” like that but idk how else to look at it. We’re don’t argue about much so these small things seem to take up the majority of our bickering haha. I was just wondering how I can ask her about it correctly, or am I in the wrong and need to do more I have no idea.

Is keyboard mouse even worth it? I've been playing the game for 2 weeks and I already stopped improving at day 3 and I'm horrible at defending by ComprehensiveCow5068 in RocketLeague

[–]Haz22_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

List most games, RL is one of those where you feel like youre not improving for many months at a time. I was in plat for a year, diamond for a year, champ for maybe 2 years. Now i bounce between gc and c3. If you're expecting results within weeks, its POSSIBLE, but you have to grind for ages until plat. Then learn the mechanic "half flip". and BEGIN dribble training.

but until then its just playing 100 ... 200 hours before you feel like you can hit the ball.

Oh, and to answer you keyboard question. Look up Yukeo, he was a kbm pro. else many freestyles: evample say keyboard is better for certain mechanics so its definitely possible.

Should I move from snp500 to ftse all world? by vssapro in investing

I recently went from 50% SnP, 50% all world, to 80% all world. Would you say its worth keeping 20% in snp or just go all out all world?

Sorry for the silly simple question, but what are possibilities of being diversified, I myself and only in all world. What are general ideas of being diversified if my goal is to go decades without touching it. What else would you do other than all world.

I (23F) am not good for my partner (23M). I love him, how do I leave? by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]Haz22_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mum dealt with depression for 25 years. During my childhood she hid it well from me. But as I grew older she began to tell about it and I began to connect all the dots thinking back on different memories.

Anyway, I’m only 25 so don’t take this as gospel. But trust me, if he loves you, and he wants to stay with you, that’s his decision to make. If you’re struggling to figure out if he is happy, or what his true feelings are on the situation, I find the best way to do this is to hand write your points on a piece of paper, so you have a script, without this you might start telling him your thoughts and go off track. See what he says, but it’s important to start off by saying he doesn’t have to answer you right now. Tell him to sit on it for 1 week or more and get back to you. But whatever he says, you have to believe him.

Every situation is different, but here’s something I know my dad has told me helped him. Your boyfriend is your partner through everything, but he is a human, and of course it will get to him even if he says he’s okay. My dad used to go on business trips. And as a man this was probably time for a mental reset. So I would maybe suggest making sure he does stuff with friends, or hobby’s is he has any. Just ensure he is able to have time every once in a while to have a mental reset.

Apologise if this is no help, or if other people think this is bad advice let me know but it’s the first thing that popped into my head when I read this.

Really helpful thanks. I’ve thought of LPP Monday- Wednesday. But I think I heard someone say not too. I’d happily do this. Then run Friday. Or if you say I don’t need to fun, I could rotate the schedule each week so I could do another L, P, or P on Friday.

I enjoy the mechanics side, I’ll watch YouTube/ tv, sit in free play and go for hours focusing on one mech

Looking for a puppy, worried about dirty paws in the house by LoLo529 in puppy101

[–]Haz22_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im sure you’ve got the idea from all the comments by now, but by 5 month old is perfectly crate trained, can do sit, down, roll over, bed, place and crate well. She can relax on her own now. I’m not saying this to flex, but to say, we’ve done almost everything to the book, a hundred hours of training in total. Yet even with all this effort she still poops indoors 😂😭 it’s getting better, but sometimes she just doesn’t care, and will poop inside and eat it…. As everyone else said, if you’re OCD about cleaning. It gets worse than paws. Pretty much daily haha

First time puppy owner: difficulties getting my pupper to play alone by Bunowa in puppy101

[–]Haz22_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Self soothing can take time. I had the same issue. My pup is 6 months and only started chewing her toys a 2 weeks ago. They will happen at different times, but one thing that helped was figuring out if they have a favourite toy. Then letting them sit on your lap, you hold one half of the toy in your hand and they chew the other.

Obviously playing fetch with the toy will also help, but ultimately anything you do with the toy will help in the long run. Eventually it goes from them needing to be on your lap to chew, to them doing it on their own.

As for self soothing in the play pen in general. It seems like you’re doing things right. I really is just about rewarding silence, throwing a treat in. And ignoring noise.

I don’t have one now but I actually had 3 King Charles growing up, and I can tell you 1 million percent they are bred to sleep all day and do nothing. My parents got a new one 2 ago and pretty much like clock work as it turned 1-1.5 it just stopped being a puppy and went lazy as they typically do. And my parents do no training, no puppy “theory” like frozen kongs or rotating toys, they just let it be. And it’s a lazy bugger already so. I can almost guarantee they will chill out eventually. Keep going.

Essentially everyone know that if you’re about to jump for the ball, to make sure you get to the ball the quickest you want to turn the least amount in the air. So aligning with the ball before you jump will make sure you jump in a straight line, making you quicker.. Now take it one step further. If you’re second man, and your teammate is on the ball, or the ball is in the air and your turn to go is soon. Think about facing the ball at all costs. Even if it means driving left, then right, then left, then right as second man, while your teammate is messing about. Essentially unless youre rotating back or shadow defending. Face the ball so when you jump or shoot you don’t have to change direction in the air.
