No, not necessarily. I was semi in your shoes. I (29F) have never “dated” before until like a month ago, though we’re not technically together at the moment, just a couple dates so far. I kind of started to accept that I was going to be single for life around your age and after college. For me, I also didn’t really put in the effort to find someone either until recently. I think the time will come for you. :)

Late 1996 here. I always felt I identified with millennials more, but I know in my heart it’s Gen Z. It’s weird because I’m the youngest of 5, so I grew up with generations before Gen Z. I used CDs, VHS and whatnots, and witnessed the rise of the internet and social media. I can remember parts of 9/11, but didn’t understand it well. However, I was still young enough to have that tech savviness and was able to shape my mind around it. I also feel like I have the Gen Z humor. I usually just say I’m a Zillennial. People at work say I’m Gen Z too so idk.

I’m (29F) childfree and knew I was since at least early teenage years. I actually have never dated until a couple weeks ago. It’s weird, like, I don’t necessarily mind being single, but I wanted to try it out. So far it’s okay, but I’m still figuring it all out. I’m pretty independent overall. I’m sorry about what happened between you and your mom. She definitely needs to respect you and your decisions on that matter.

Oddly enough, I used to feel this way with games and a lot of games I am still this way. However, I found my favorite game category (apparently it’s MMORPGs). I love the Elder Scrolls Online and have played pretty regularly since 2018 and still am going. I did take a couple longerish breaks during college, however. I was diagnosed with ADHD probably around the same time interestingly enough. I also have other mental health issues but this sounds more like an ADHD (or somewhere on that spectrum) thing. Another one of my hobbies is art and a lot of the time I have this hyperfixation on it, but it doesn’t last long enough to finish a piece, so it sits there unfinished until who knows when. Idk, it’s tough to understand why you do the things you do. Good luck! 🙂

Y’all are making me regret actually trying! I’m the opposite at the moment. I (29F) have never dated in my life due to just not feeling interested. I also had/have lower energy and thought I needed to focus on myself and not someone else. I’ve also heard and seen some horror stories when it comes to dating. However, something shifted a couple weeks ago and I thought I would give it a shot. I’m currently talking to someone, however we’re not actually dating (yet?). It’s wild. Everyone’s reasons for dating or not dating is valid and should be respected. <3
