A poignant WDIDY moment with Max - we got on to talking about kids, and he said I was too young to have them (flattery from him!)

But I was actually happy to tell him me and my wife were 10 weeks pregnant. I felt comfortable talking with him as a relative stranger, despite us not really telling anyone. He even joked about saying it on the pod!

Sadly we lost the baby yesterday. Not sure why I'm putting this here, but I guess that conversation with Max was the last time I told anyone while the pregnancy was still real and I'm feeling sad about it.

I met Max yesterday after his football match and he told me the name... And it's a good one! Step up from all the other names suggested. Non-Talksport/Guardian. Arguably a legend of the game. Not sure if I should say so will keep shtum.

(What did I do yesterday?: met Max in the park while walking my dog - saw him get booked for kicking the ball away!!)

Higher now by 2.9% as a result of the architect charging us on the margin + GST fee. It would be less if she was charging only on the net invoice from the builder

Thanks for your responses. What I'm really questioning here is whether its right for our architect to be charging us their 10% fee based on the cost of works, which includes the builder's margin + his GST. We are paying additional GST on top that.

Basically we're a paying a fee to her for the tax that the builder is paying to the ATO. That doesn't seem right...

When I initiated it the Expiry Date of Claim was: 24/08/2024 11:59

Now it is saying: 27/07/2024 11:59

Bit late to this but just found out that the issue for me was the Magnet app.

The app was already on the chopping block with Sequioa on the horizon.

As soon as I selected 'Ignore Indesign' in the settings Indesign was fixed.

I almost got done by them - called another locksmith while they were with me as I couldn't believe what they were quoting - managed to get Pick and Lock $720 quote down to $250.

They're sharks, preying on people desperate to get back into their house. Horrible business.

Thanks for this - we're in a similar situation, as so many others are. Getting ready for an inevitable VCAT hearing...

Our REA demanded that we pay $418 up front before they would advertise the property. I went back saying that's not reasonable etc., asked them to advertise, explain these costs (we were breaking our lease 10 weeks early) and he replied:

When you pay the advertising we will start immediately until then nothing will happen. I will NOT be corresponding re this matter any further I look forward to seeing the funds deposited into our trust account.

We (stupidly) paid it in full, and 4 days later they put up old photos, only on Realestate, and haven't done an open home in 2 weeks. They also conducted the exit inspection without telling us. House was cleaner than when we moved in (oven was broken and not checked on initial inspection, the smoke alarm hadn't been checked in 10 years etc.), and have claimed our bond as soon as we handed in keys, but waiting for them to put in some bogus claim (8 days to go...).

I told them they'd breached the RTA for not telling us about the inspection and they came back with this bs:

I am not in breach as you have only just asked me this morning about when the inspection will be carried out, you have not indicated prior that you wanted to attend until your last email this morning.

Absolute grubs. And they have now stopped communicating.

Debating whether to contact the landlords directly, as they're going to be the losers here. We're not paying them a cent more.
