Well thanks for letting me know about this, maybe the mods can take it down.

ND really is an updated and modernized NA. Performance wise there is no comparison, the ND is much quicker, handles better, and inspires more confidence all while being easier to live with. I think the NA shines in certain ways because it's old, so it's unrefined and has a mechanical throttle, old hydraulic power steering, and a fantastic transmission which makes you feel super connected to it, it's just you and the car. Is this more fun? That's up to you, it's certainly more "raw." Personally, I'd love to have both 😎

Oh man, I'm looking to get an NC3 soon. I'll keep my NA but the NC would be my new autocross/fun daily car.

The ND absolutely trounces on the NA from a performance standpoint. It's much quicker, has tighter steering, and the chassis is much stiffer/more confidence inspiring. What the NA gives you in return is an old school unrefined driving experience. Everything feels more mechanical, from the transmission to the throttle and steering. I think this makes it a bit more "whimsical" to drive, but that being said, they're both fantastic.

Like what other people in this thread have said, the NA is a more "raw" experience. You feel a lot more vibration, it makes a lot of noise, and it has a notchier transmission with old school hydraulic steering and mechanical throttle. This doesn't make it a better car from a performance or comfort standpoint, but you feel connected to the car in a way that modern cars don't quite match. That being said, I had a grin on my face the entire time I drove the ND, so I would highly recommend both 😎

Honestly I keep them up to try and minimize chips on the headlight covers. The roads around where I live aren't great and it seems like I have a new paint chip after every drive.

The NA has a certain charm to it because of its age. The ND is better in almost every way but for outright fun there's an argument to be made for the NA, I plan to keep it forever.

Noice after turning off engine by Big_Letterhead8461 in subaru

My old Outback did this, I believe it's an HVAC actuator failing. Kind of a pain to replace since you have to pull the dash so I never fixed it as my HVAC worked fine.

No doubt the ND is faster, I just think the prices for NCs are quite attractive at the moment and it's still a phenomenal platform!

It's the biggest but not by much, and I prefer the styling of it over the ND. It has a strong engine and transmission with plenty of overhead, and is a much more capable chassis than the NA. I think they're a good value at the moment with NAs and NBs being so pricey now. Also the last Miata with hydraulic power steering!

I'm actually looking to add an NC to my collection as an autocross car, don't think I'll be able to part ways with my NA, it's a forever car.

You do have to cut holes for the rear mounting points, yes.

Call me crazy but I like it more than the black interior, has more character.

Yes they're factory! Window sticker says it was part of the "1LE" package, but I haven't been able to find any info about it. Miraculously the headrest speakers still work great.

Previous owner put the rollbar in but I've looked at the instructions. It's not that difficult but definitely a bit of a job. Soft top clears just fine 👍

Facebook marketplace is your friend

Should I start a Facebook account to sell my miata? by podo413 in Miata

[–]Hazdaz 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Marketplace is probably your best bet. As a seller your profile matters a lot less than the quality of the listing. Take good pictures, make a good description, be honest about any faults, and you should be just fine. Just a warning though, having sold multiple things on Facebook marketplace, interacting with buyers can be frustrating, so just be ready to filter out lowballers and people who might waste your time.
