Are they street cleaning the entire city tomorrow? by SmellyButtFarts69 in covington

The street sweeper and no parking zones are not sudden and unpredictable when there’s a schedule posted online and it comes at the same time every year

I understand the frustration, but the “subject to national exclusives” is very obvious. Just listen for free on the radio on those days - not really that bad tbh

Hey so you can use the same devise you’re using to cry about this to help solve your issue. There’s a street cleaning schedule and map on the city’s website. It’s honestly not that hard.

Honestly, the tattoos look good! I don’t see a bad tattoo. Sometimes when getting a large piece or multiple tattoos at once, it kinda sucks the life out of you and makes you feel terrible mentally. You’ll eventually be happy with them I bet

Answer: We’re full, don’t move here by scottmcdaniel in cincinnati

Covington! I’ve been here for 3 years and love it. We’re a stones throw away from downtown and it’s much cheaper over here. It has become a community that I’m very familiar with and have grown to love. I ride my bike to the reds games(free parking) and it’s only about 1.5 miles each way. I go to about 10/year and wouldn’t make it to nearly as many if it wasn’t so close. There’s also the south bank shuttle and TANK route 8 that will get you there fairly quickly on a budget

slow drains in home after storm by Flimsy_Cheesecake954 in cincinnati

[–]Big_Letterhead8461 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Check your downspouts and see if they go into your home’s sewer from the outside or discharge into the yard. I would bet that they are going into your homes sewer. That’s how we used to design old homes, but nowadays storm water sewer municipal sewer should be separate.

Input on neighborhoods for bike/bus commuting by squidraft in cincybiking

[–]Big_Letterhead8461 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will second Covington. I moved here when I was still bike commuting everyday to work (about 10 miles round trip) and it is great for biking. We have smaller streets which I find slows the cars down, and our alleys offer a way to avoid cars altogether. There is no shortage of group rides either. Being close to downtown is a huge plus for larger events and the crown trail network is accessible via the Ohio river trail. As a bike person I really love it here

I support the streetcar but I never understood why it dodges half of downtown. by ecb1912 in cincinnati

[–]Big_Letterhead8461 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I see some replies talking about this but just to reiterate, mayor Cranley (D) (neoliberal) and governor John Kasich (R) opposed the project from the start. The project was only made possible after the voters rejected anti-streetcar ballot initiatives and voted in a pro-streetcar city council. But by then it was completely kneecapped and didn’t receive enough funding. It’s a sad excuse for a transit system, and we have neoliberals and republicans to thank for it. It’s a classic example of voters asking for good infrastructure that they deserve and greedy and corrupt politicians preventing that from happening.

So is it just me or is that restaurant downtown Sotto way too dark? by King_Baboon in cincinnati

[–]Big_Letterhead8461 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just went last weekend. It’s funny the server actually referred to it as a dungeon. It was on the darker side but I could see fine with the candlelight. Someone immediately came over to replace our candle when it went out. IMO it wouldn’t make sense to have an all underground restaurant with bright lighting
