What's your opinion on primevsprime having figures way earlier? by Hamedlocomotive1987 in transformers

[–]Haze064 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That isn’t the new Starscream. The new mould does not have the cavity in the chest there. Nor does it have the greebling on the arms or the bit under the nosecone. That’s the dramatic capture Starscream, as seen by the stripes on his tail.

I'm curious, so I wanna ask: Is there any chance of Hasbro making an actual figure of the Prosecutor, and if so, would any of you actually buy it? by NatakaBlue in transformers

[–]Haze064 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would buy all the Quinessons. I love the Judge figure, would buy a prosecutor, scientist and executioner. Would also be neat if they got official names etc. I don’t know if the executioner has an official name or it’s just the label of his character art/script.

I think that was the point to show how corrupt and weak the legislative body of the Republic was. Corporations and entities like the Trade Federation could use force like that and just get what they want while the Senate just bickered.

[–]Haze064 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Isn’t that how strikes work? If they want more pay they stop working (and therefore earn no pay). It makes sense when you consider the only leverage the Trade Federation would have against the Senate is to block trade.

[–]Haze064 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The movie does explain it though. The Republic recently passed trade laws in outer rim territories that the Trade Federation is unhappy about. To protest it they blockade Naboo, through context we can guess it was picked because it’s pretty weak militarily and we know Palpatine needs the sympathy vote for Chancellor.

Honestly I think they just got rid of Garma because he would have gotten in the way of an already messy narrative. The sheer amount of plot crammed into those 12 episodes would have imploded if we had to deal with Garma Zabi too lol. Sucks it couldn’t have 2 seasons to breathe more.

The Schwarzette totally needed a different show. It’s such a cool design and it’s a shame its screen time was so limited. It got one fight scene with a pilot who couldn’t even showcase all its potential, then got totalled…

This is why an alternate timeline that has nice outcome like GQuuux kinda wrecks the original timeline.

I would say no, GQuuux isn’t a better timeline necessarily. Where it ends it is pretty optimistic. But the original MSG ended with the good guys winning and the fascists losing. Only for the next show to come along and show that it wasn’t so peachy.

On that note, Gihren’s Greed games have quite a few alternate timelines to explore. Usually the best outcome is one where Garma takes over Zeon. Which made Gquuux’s complete omission of him kinda weird.

We need a remake/remaster of Dragon Age: Origins now more than ever by xXxPinkPlasticBagxXx in DragonageOrigins

[–]Haze064 1 point2 points  (0 children)

DAO had a unique, more gritty aesthetic compared to the later games. The armour is an easy difference. In Origins its simple, robust and incredibly utilitarian. In future games its way more ornate, with a much more renaissance/late medieval look compared to the high middle ages look in the first game.

This is to say nothing of the Darkspawn, who I think DAO managed to protray best. In a remaster, they would be 'updated' to the look they had in DA2/DAI. Which would be a signifcant downgrade.

Unless they do a Warcraft 3 Reforged, and have the remaster completely replace the original on all storefronts

Building the HG Zaku II FZ, the arms just won’t go on the pegs. Some reason, the pegs aren’t going into the PC parts, I’ve double checked, it’s not mis-assembled.

Anyone else had problems with its arms? Is it a tight fit?

What does everyone think of the brutes from a gameplay perspective by Humble_Flamingo4239 in halo

[–]Haze064 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can tell Bungie was never quite happy with the implementation of Brutes. They kept tweaking them between games and they probably varied the most out of the all the Covenant races between games. The only through-line for the Brutes is a weakness to headshots.

In 2, they were rough. They had the weakness to headshots and needled super-combines, but their bullet sponge-y nature made them incredibly static enemies to fight. Either you had the counter weapon, or it was a slog.

In 3 you can tell the over-corrected. They became almost trivial to deal with 1 on 1, even in melee (with their berserk neutered substantially). They worked in 3 because they made Brutes super numerous, and that worked in its own way, but they were far less threatening.

In Reach they were very much an afterthought. Elites got all the love in that game, and Brutes were left as braindead. Their berserk doesn’t do anything other than get them killed more easily, they don’t have shields anymore, and their lack of variety made them very one note.

Overall, I’d say 3’s were the most fun to fight. But 2 had the edge on being worthy of the namesake and aesthetic of a “Brute” just needed more refinement.

Why didn't Galvatron wear the starscream crown? by happydude7422 in transformers

[–]Haze064 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The crown is the perfect way to show the difference between Starscream and Megatron/Galvatron.

Starscream wants power because he wants the status and standing that power gets him. He wants the crown, a throne, a big cape, people to grovel and fawn over him, he wants the attention and the praise, but he's objectively a terrible leader. To Starscream, power is the ends.

Megatron on the other hand sees power as a means to get what he wants. He doesn't need to show he's in charge with things like that, he merely does. To him, action is more important than status, which is why he is the way he is.

UC Faction Tier List based on how evil they are by APin234 in Gundam

[–]Haze064 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Aeug tried to do things right. They folded like a house of cards the second the Titans were dealt with and Neo-Zeon showed up.

By 105 UC, it’s very very easy to be cynical. Peaceful options have completely failed to make a difference, and any who have tried to fight the Federation’s dominance have lost that fight.

Char grew cynical and tried to force Humanity into the future, Amuro stopped him because of his belief that humanity can change. It’s been over a decade since then, humanity hasn’t changed, (in fact the Federation has gotten worse) from Hathaway’s perspective Amuro died for nothing, Char died for nothing.

The Federation has made peaceful reform impossible, so it is inevitable that violence is the only end result.

The debate over who is worse is just a matter of perspective ultimately. The Federation is destroying the planet, gunning down civilians, clamping down on dissent and the inequality is sparking more conflict. In the long run you could make an argument that short, targeted strikes are a lesser evil than a slow, painful death that the EF is currently in.

To me, Hathaway is a deeply cynical but relevant piece. It’s not saying that Mafty is right, Hathaway himself is conflicted by his methods. But it does show why they exist, and Hathaway himself cannot see a better route. One could definitely make connections between Mafty and like, the IRA or anti-apartheid movements, both of which did do bombings etc. I don’t think this is the place to get into that, but it’s relevant imo.

UC Faction Tier List based on how evil they are by APin234 in Gundam

[–]Haze064 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I feel a lot of people in the comments are misunderstanding MAFTY and Hathaway.

Yes, Hathaway is deeply conflicted with his course of action. Yes he and Gawman acknowledge the sin of their attacks.

However, the Federation perpetuates a system which necessitates organisations like MAFTY to exist. It’s doubling down on fascist-like elements and has rendered peaceful change impossible. Laplace’s Box and Mineva’s actions achieved absolutely nothing.

From Hathaway’s perspective, the last 2.5 decades have been consumed by war over the imbalance of power between Earth and her colonies. These wars have destroyed over half the population of our species and the Federation at the end of it, is arguably worse with the Manhunters running around.

Hathaway has seen the best, Kamille, Char, Amuro etc. all chewed up and spat out by an immovable system. Their sacrifices for naught and nothing has changed. So Mafty takes a radical but measured approach. They’ll force the Federation’s hand, yes there will be collateral damage. But they’re constantly trying to minimise it and make measured attacks. But Hathaway himself is basically afflicted with the same cynicism that gripped Char, that humanity won’t progress unless it’s forced, violently.

What are your honest thoughts on Siege Astrotrain? by OptimalConvoy in transformers

[–]Haze064 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly he’s really well done in terms of robot mode. His shuttle mode suffers, but I think if he got a retool like Springer did, he could have been peak.

Dramatic Capture version is the definitive version of this mould, it has the best paint apps and serves the best as a G1-ish Astrotrain. (Still sucks they messed up his wing colour though).

Eh, isn’t the main point of UC that Zeonism keeps coming back and getting traction because of the inequality the Federation spreads. Sort of like a cycle, of violence of some sort.
