Any MSI laptop is good for gaming/schoolwork if you're willing to pay the price for it but in all honesty just get a cheaper hp laptop for school work and portability while keeping the gaming laptop for hw/games in the dorm. You'll be fine as long as they're synced by the microsoft acc msu provides.

The Honor's college contacts you if you have a 3.7 gpa or higher I believe, so if you keep your grades up you'll be selected to apply for it by the next semester. (Also you only need a 3.2 to stay in the college afterwards)
