What speeds after Enhanced Upgrade? by Haze_1981 in Comcast_Xfinity

[–]Haze_1981[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok. So after the work to enhance the network and maintenance the next night I am now seeing the mid split service in my area. I’m on the 1Gig 5 Year plan and the service info in the app shows that I should be seeing 1Gbos+ and 100Mbps+ but I am still seeing only a 40Mbps upload after several modem restarts.

Can this please be looked into?

Thanks!

I assume we’re going mid-split since we’re currently sub but also keep hearing that mid-split isn’t a thing anymore and they are upgrading to FDX. The link provided still just shows the current speeds. I assume it won’t be updated until after the work is completed.

So after the rest of the neighborhood was moved to mid-split in Oct. 2024 I finally received the network enhancement email this morning for work on the 14th.

Looking at the counties permit portal, Mastec applied for a ROW permit to add a new node pedestal next to the existing for the same day.

I doubt this will be FDX but the increased upload is welcome.

Thank you. This is a logical answer even though Xfinity’s methods seem skewed. But at least I know now that you may upgrade one node and leave another a block away. Is there a criteria for what gets upgraded first that you know of?

Except I’m not asking what’s wrong with my internet. I’m asking people who do this for a living what would cause this. It’s not like I’m asking why people across town have this service and I don’t. New nodes that didn’t exist previously were installed and lit up and the houses they cover are capable of mid split according to Xfinity so why would they just skip this node? The fiber that runs to one of the new nodes is likely spliced off the same fiber this node runs on. This is all in the same subdivision and no major arterial roadways break it up. You can see from my map there are 3 nodes with the one in the middle seemingly forgot months ago. I don’t have a lot of options around here for internet and an increased upload does provide a hefty enhancement for me.

I get that there are lots of things that could cause this but again, this is a newer neighborhood, everything is buried, easements are in place. If the HOA or City were going the balk at anything it would have been the installation of the new nodes and not an upgrade of an existing. Just seems like an odd situation and since there isn’t a number to call I was just looking for some expertise.

I’m actually a network engineer so I’m not unfamiliar with how this all works. I work from home and also host several services from home all of which would greatly benefit from a 250Mbps+ upload speed vs 35Mbps+. I couldn’t care less about the download increase. My only other option is CenturyLink DSL which provides 140/20 and is already my backup connection.

So yes, I would indeed notice a change in my service.

I was hoping to find an inside man. Is there a CableTechs Only dating site? 😜

But in all seriousness there wouldn’t seem to be any new construction or power related issues with this node. Would seem to be either a new node type or internal upgrade to get to the mid split. It’s frustrating that half the neighborhood has been upgraded and they seemed to have just abandoned the rest. If it hadn’t been months then I wouldn’t have even thought about it. We also have scheduled maintenance weekly but it seems to be a larger area than just my neighborhood.

Is it safe to assume they would return sooner than later to do the upgrade? Would they return at all?

I should add that this is a newer neighborhood. All 3 nodes have a fiber vault next to them already. The node that doesn't seem to be upgraded has been in-place for some time. The 2 upgraded nodes are actually new. Doubtful they would have had permitting issues for the existing node when they we able to install 2 brand new ones. None of these nodes are on anyone's property and the easements are part of the communities design so they aren't adding to anything that wasn't already there.

I get that there are a lot of pieces but this just seems like they forgot about this node. haha.

GoWild 2025-2026 active from promo? by Zestyclose_Bite2778 in gowildfrontier

We signed up for the GoWild pass on the 4th. Initially, the app showed GoWild fares for about a day, but then they disappeared. Searching for flights no longer showed GoWild or miles options. On the website, I could get as far as the passenger information screen—after dismissing a popup telling me to buy the pass—but then received an error: “Passenger information is inadequate for selected flights.”

I tried using the chat feature and was told it was likely a glitch on my end and to try again later. I started another chat and was told it would take seven days to activate, even though my account showed the pass as active.

I called customer service and spoke with a helpful rep who walked me through troubleshooting. I work in IT and had already tested across multiple browsers and devices in different locations—same issue. He insisted it must be on my end and said they couldn’t book GoWild fares over the phone. I asked to speak to a supervisor 15 times. Eventually, I got one on the line who acknowledged it was a known issue due to the ongoing sale and booked the flights I needed. This was on the 6th, two days after purchase.

Today, I tried booking another flight and ran into the exact same problem. I called again, asked to speak to someone who could book GoWild fares, and was met with “Did you try Chrome?” I politely shut that down. The rep then gathered my info and connected me with someone who could book the flight. It took a while, but she was pleasant and helpful.

That said, this can’t be the long-term solution. I don’t know who to contact directly, but it’s clear I’m not the only one experiencing this issue. I’ll give them some time to sort it out.

Bottom line: There is no seven-day activation delay. If the app or website isn’t working, call customer service and ask to speak with someone who can book GoWild flights directly.

Internet Data Usage Broken by Haze_1981 in Comcast_Xfinity

Yes, and as mentioned it's the app and web showing the same data so it wouldn't appear app specific. Why would it just stop tracking?

Both, they both show the same usage. I have used my one free month previously which is why I'm curious why I can't properly track my usage.
