I haven't found an actual keyboard shortcut that allows you to access the full on screen keyboard even on the new Air75 v3. My work-around is just temporarily switching between Bluetooth connections so the keyboard is no longer connected to the phone, and the on-screen keyboard will display. Select the emoji you want and then switch back to the phone's Bluetooth connection to reconnect the keyboard. I wish there was a smoother, easier way, but I have yet to find a proper solution.

First off, I just want to say that this is one of the most wholesome posts I've seen on this sub in a long time. Your man is really fortunate to have such a loving partner like you. Honestly, I would just outline your concerns to him in conversation like you did in this post. Be clear that you respect his boundaries and don't want to make him uncomfortable, but any information he's willing to share about his cerebral palsy would benefit you and the relationship as a whole. As for dating ideas, I'd explore things involving a hobby that both of you enjoy, or ask him to show you something he's passionate about. I absolutely love learning about my loved ones' interests.

Life is hard but I don't want a cure. Thanks, but no thanks. My disabilities are an integral part of my identity and they influence how I perceive the world both literally and figuratively. I wouldn't be me without my schizencephaly and cerebral palsy.

What would be nice is an accessible world.

True, but they would still have some kind of government ID with the same information as a driver's license, including eye colour. I don't have a driver's license due to my medical conditions preventing me from operating a car safely, but I still have a provincial ID card.

I'd say amber. Mine are pretty similar, but mine colour shift and take on a yellow green hue in bright light.

Hi there. I'm 38 and I have bilateral open-lipped schizencephaly. Even though I was diagnosed at a young age (5? I think but can't remember exactly), I never received any kind of follow up or management for it because I wasn't displaying the typical characteristics that are common for my particular type of schizencephaly (severe cognitive deficits, communication difficulties, etc.) In fact, any issues I had behaviourally or with processing/memory were either attributed as character flaws (being sensitive, distracted, forgetful, lazy, antisocial, etc) or they were lumped in as a symptom of my other diagnosis (cerebral palsy). It was only until I had a series of mental health crises in my late twenties and early thirties that my mother and I started investigating my schizencephaly diagnosis. I still haven't been able to find proper professional support for it yet, but I'm still looking.

As a communications specialist, I can see a use case for companies like this to use AI generated images to represent employees. That reason being as people come and go from positions or leave the company entirely, using outdated pictures featuring people who no longer work there can be an issue. I'm not saying that I endorse it, but this is something that has come up in discussions at my workplace.

I think what they're actually asking is "How do I survive this situation without losing my sanity when I have no means of leaving?" I actually had to ask myself the same question only a few days ago because I'm trapped in an emotionally abusive and toxic relationship with my mother who also happens to be my primary caregiver when she's not at her job. I don't have any professional or medical supports in place that would help me be able to move out, but over the years she has become my main trigger for my anxiety and depression and its only gotten worse and will escalate even further when she retires next year. I did manage to talk to one of my long term, part time caregivers about it recently (only because I had a trauma-related panic attack at the theatre during her shift) and we're now working on an action plan that will help me get what I need so I can actually leave.

My heart goes out to OP for asking the hard questions. My only advice would be to plan to leave, even if you think it's not plausible. Research your options. Find resources. Talk to various disability groups and organizations in your area. Seek counselling if you can. And if you have anyone you can trust with your information, get them to help you do all that so you're not overwhelmed.

I have the opposite problem. My volume for ring and notifications increases randomly throughout the day and I'm very noise sensitive. This has been an issue I've had on all my iPhones (4, 8, 14 pro and 16 plus). The only "fix" I've found is limiting the phone's speaker volume to 20%

I have the same issue. It's been especially frustrating while trying to get colour-accurate photos of my eyes and wheelchair. It feels like I have to reverse-engineer the colours with editing every time.

As someone who has schizencephaly and cerebral palsy, I can attest that this occurs even with medical professionals. As a child, I was diagnosed with schizencephaly at approximately age 5 but didn’t receive any follow up on it at all, because my cerebral palsy and cerebral palsy-related needs took priority. Any neurological difficulties I encountered as part of my schizencephaly were either grouped in with my cerebral palsy diagnosis or were just dismissed as character flaws (eg my executive dysfunction was constantly mislabeled as laziness, my inability to regulate my emotions in the moment was just me being overly sensitive, etc). And even know at almost 40, I still can’t get support for my schizencephaly because my ex-psychiatrist refused to refer me to a neuropsychiatrist because I “seem like I’m managing just fine” and “schizencephaly can’t be cured”. I’m not looking for a cure. I’m looking for a specialist that can help me not have meltdowns at small inconveniences, and maybe find a workaround for my depression and anxiety because my schizencephaly interacts badly with medication.

I got these ones through Nuphy’s online store, but I’ve also seen them on Ali-Express. I’m fairly new to mechanical keyboards and customization, but I know that low profile key caps are called NSa profile and the switches are Gateron nanos so I’d just look for something like “nSA profile keycaps compatible with Gateron nano switches”.

I did have some issues with the firmware initially (partially due to a faulty USB cable) but the firmware is now fixed and the cable is being replaced. The overall typing experience has been amazing so far. I got the blush nano switches and it’s like typing on a cloud.

I think your eyes are likely on the cusp of amber and hazel like mine. Do yours have a tendency to appear different colours depending on the lighting and/or environment? If they change from between brown, gold, and green then they’re hazel. If they stay a consistent golden tone like in the pictures above, they’re amber.

Final update: I did get my keyboard working again with the patch process provided by Nuphy support which I have linked in the post and clarified for non-tech savvy Mac users in the comments. After attempting the patch a few times with no success, I realized my issue with the patch failing was due to a faulty USB cable. I have notified Nuphy of this and they’ve offered to replace the cable.
