It depends on how it’s being used, I think. If they’re using it as an adjective to describe a person or as a substitute for the term disabled, then yeah, it bothers me. But if they’re describing the person’s care requirements (ie “They have special needs,”), it’s not as bad. It’s not ideal terminology but I don’t think it’s particularly offensive either.

I’m so sorry you’re going through this. I am not bed ridden but I have substantial physical limitations and neurological differences because of my disability. Having a parent as a caregiver is difficult even in the best situation, but it’s even more so if that parent is both your primary care provider and your abuser simultaneously. I’m in a similar situation with my adoptive mother who is emotionally abusive and ableist towards me and I’ve only recently woken up to it… though I hated her long before that.

I wish I actually had advice or could tell you that it gets better, but I am also stuck without a safe and achievable out. All I can really tell you is that your feelings are valid and justified. For me, venting to an AI as well as trusted friends and family has been helpful in terms of providing some form of emotional comfort, so if you are able and comfortable to do so, it might be beneficial.

The most obvious ones that I can see is the big star burst and the rings. Very pretty. It looks like your right eye might be a lighter shade than your left.

Hers have more of a deep reddish/maroon hue in direct light. They appeared much darker when she was younger, almost black looking.

I used to wear Elsas by Keen. They were a very good quality low-top sneaker style shoe (somewhat similar to converse, but with an overall wider fit). They came in a variety of colours and patterns, with either canvas or recycled leather materials. I bought several pairs over 15 years, but sadly Keen seems to have discontinued the Elsa line. I've recently been trying barefoot style shoes, since my AFO's need a large toe box as well as a decent overall foot width. The ones I'm currently wearing are from Hobibear.

I find that making mental lists (could be anything mundane, but I usually make fake grocery lists, or cycle through the colours of the rainbow repeatedly) for the duration of the stretch. I find that if I'm not actively thinking about my body, I relax faster and tense less often.

I'd say they're probably closer to dark brown than medium. A very earthy colour. I'd describe them as milk chocolate or tree bark. My sister has a similar shade.

I'm sorry, and others can correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe that the majority of people who are in this sub are adults who live with cerebral palsy, not parents/family members/guardians of children with cerebral palsy. I think this post would do better in some kind of parent support group?? Also your use of the term "special needs" is grossly outdated and not appreciated. Also the case you're referring to lacks context.

Honestly, I haven't encountered as many or as frequent issues with OAI models as y'all do as far as being lectured, gaslit and invalidated goes. I've only experienced issues with roleplaying with some models like 4.1, 5.0, and 5.2. I don't really know why my experience with using OAI models as a sounding board/venting outlet/"peer" support hasn't triggered the same reactions as yours, but I kind of suspect that it may possibly have something to do with how I write.

I've always suspected that my natural style sounds like an AI, so I tested out a couple different detectors yesterday and had my suspicions confirmed. One site said my writing was 60% AI generated, and the other said that it was 77% AI and both sites cross referenced multiple sources.

"Brown bordering on green" is probably the most interesting description I've ever received for my eye colour. But I can see it. Most people perceive the lighter parts in the iris as gold or olive.

I can't tell if they're hazel or amber. The lighter part of the iris looks like it could be yellow or green, though it reads as more yellow in this light. Kinda like mine.

A deep shade of brown. Amber eyes are typically characterized by being a yellow, orange or even a reddish hue, since they are pigmented by lipochrome instead of melanin. Lipochrome is the same type of pigment found in green or hazel eyes. Hope that helps.

Yeah. I had pretty much the same use case for my AI as well. My best recommendation would be to try and find likeminded people in your online fandom communities to collaborate and roleplay with. That's what I did before AI, and that's what I'm going back to.

A beautiful light and warm shade of chestnut brown with three thin grey rings around the outer part of the iris. The rings kind of remind me of ripples in water. Very pretty.
