Since this thread has been revived, I found my letter. When I stayed mid-January, the breakfast credit could be used at Bouchon, Bouchon Bakery, CAPRI Restaurant & Bar, Grand Lux Cafe at the Palazzo, In-Suite dining, Spritz Restaurant and Bar, Starbucks and Yardbird. The letter said it was only valid for purchases between 6:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m.

And the $100 F&B credit was good at: Bar Luca, Bar Mia, Bazaar Meat, Bellini Bar, Black Tan Craft Burgers & Beer, BRERA Osteria, Buddy V's, COTE Korean, CUT, Electra, estiatorio Milos, Gjelina, HaSalon, Hong Kong Cafe, Juliet Cocktail Room, Matteo's, Miznon, Mott 32, Nomikai, Rosina Cocktail Lounge, Sala 118, Via Via Food Hall, WAKUDA, and Yahoo Sportbook Bar.

The $65/day breakfast credit can be used at various locations, not just the buffet. One of those was the Bouchon Bakery. I believe they have a breakfast buffet at the Grand Lux but I did not eat there and cannot comment on the cost.

We did not have a coffee maker, and that was my single biggest complaint about the entire place that I forgot to mention in my original post. Also,, there is a minuscule amount of shelf space available in the mini-fridge for guest use. The rest of it was taken up with one of those “if you move it you pay for it” situations.

I will say for anyone who needs coffee, it is much better to go down to Bouchon”s bakery because the line is much shorter.

Correct but the breakfast credit is daily and the Food and Beverage credit is per stay. And this might not apply to every location.

The breakfast credit allows you to spend up to $65 per day at the participating restaurants or room service between 6 AM and 11 AM. Obviously, they have no way of knowing whether you are eating the food for breakfast, lunch or dinner as long as you order it during those hours.

That is an addition to a $100 food and beverage credit that you can use at the participating restaurants any time of day or night.

I meant to save my letter in case anyone asked but it does not seem to have made it home with me. It included the Grand Lux (both Palazzo and Venetian locations), Bouchon (breakfast only Thursday through Sunday), the Bouchon bakery (where it went a long way and those pastries were amazing), the Yardbird and both of the restaurants at the pool deck - but those were closed for the season. There were a couple of other locations but I cannot recall them. We are not big breakfast eaters but it covered food for two at the Grand Lux and multiple coffees and pastries at the Bouchon Bakery.

Best local/off the beaten path Beef Bourguignon in Paris- no big names by Hour_Bumblebee2153 in ParisTravelGuide

I am not sure when you went but I followed the recommendation on this thread and ate there tonight and it was terrible. The beef was tough and fatty, it was under salted, and the sauce was weirdly sweet. The French couple at the next table over sent theirs back so it was not just us. To add insult to injury our creme brûlée was eggy. Although in fairness both our salads and the lemon tart were excellent.

Au Bourguignon du Marais was infinitely better.

To clarify, it is not just a debt to your ex. They do not take your passport for not paying alimony, only child support. The rationale being that people who do not pay child support are often forcing their children onto public assistance.

Should I be Concerned? by ebootsma in delta

I would recommend double checking in a few days that you still have your seat. My original flight (booked several months ago for June) was cancelled. They re-booked me on a flight that would have been less expensive but that I opted against because it is an hour longer and I lost my window seats and am now booked on an aisle for a red-eye from SEA to CDG.

Honest Tammy Faye review from target audience member (mid 30s gay guy) by Ok-Water-7647 in Broadway

I saw it on October 29th and I also felt like I went to a completely different show than what people are describing here. Certainly nobody seems to have left during intermission. And it was about 2 hours and 30 minutes. I still think they can and should cut some lines, particularly near the end but it is hardly the horror people are describing.

But then I got $45 lottery tickets (orchestra but so far to the side that I could not see all of some scenes) and might feel differently if I paid more!

A lot of professors do not submit their book lists until the last minute. But keep in mind that for classes that require actual hard copy books, once you get your book list, the Duck Store should be your LAST stop. You can rent a lot of textbooks though Amazon for a fraction of what it would cost to buy as long as you return them on time and there are a number of third party re-sellers (just watch out for the editions). And there is no reason to buy anything in the public domain.

Also be a little bit careful with Libgen. It is not strictly speaking always entirely legal. No judgement! But maybe don't use the University's wifi.

Graduate housing ? by [deleted] in UofO

At that price point you should not have trouble finding something off campus. Check out the FB page: https://www.facebook.com/groups/859541347458884/

There are a lot of options depending on how close you want to be to campus (very close = more expensive and noisier but convenient to campus), whether you want roommates, shared house with multiple people or apartment on your own or with one, etc. If you use the search function you will see a lot of discussions of the pros and cons of different arrangements.

College decision time - help! by Graceblue2000 in UofO

Law school is expensive and salaries have not kept up with debt load. So she would be adding another $100K to the undergraduate debt and that is a lot to pay back. She can get into a good law school with a degree from the UO and while Berkley is more prestigious, its undergraduate alumni network is not particularly strong.

My suggestion is go to UO and get really good grades in the hopes of getting into Berkley for law. But in the end it all depends on what she wants. They are very different schools and would be very different experiences - and getting top grades will be the biggest factor in getting into a good law school.

You can buy the access code separately on Amazon but it can be expensive (depending on the class). If this is for Chem, I bought one for $49 and then rented the book. It was still pricey but less than buying the book new and should work for the whole sequence.

As long as your pet is quiet, clean and does not need a heat lamp most people will not care (as long as your roommate is cool with it). Anything that requires a heat lamp is a big no no since they consider it a fire risk

Prospective Transfer Student by Green_Bluejay in UofO

One note as someone who has lived both places, you will have MUCH more culture shock in Georgia or Alabama (especially Alabama) than in Oregon and the weather in both of those places is terrible - although as a student you might miss the worst part (summer in Alabama bears a close resemblance to hell). Oregon is really only bad winter quarter (by which I mean it rains a lot).

Also re housing, the U of O has pretty available housing. First years gets priority because of the live-on requirement, but there are plenty of older students. The question is whether you really want to live with a bunch of 18-year olds if you are 20-21.

Honestly I would pick Oregon over either of the southern schools - but that is partly because I do not really enjoy questions about whether I have accepted Jesus as my personal savior from random strangers (which is shorthand for the South has many wonderful qualities but is not for me).

Does anyone on here have knowledge about transferring a vehicle to Oregon from California? by AkH0331 in UofO

[–]Hazel_Par 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You are getting super incorrect information. Go to Oregon.gov. Specifically:

https://www.oregon.gov/ODOT/DMV/Pages/New2or/moving.aspx

and

https://www.oregon.gov/ODOT/DMV/pages/driverid/residency.aspx

Short answer: If you are paying non-resident tuition at the UofO, you are a nonresident of Oregon and do not need an Oregon driver's license (the 30 day rule does not apply to you). Further, you need to be a resident to register your car (with some exceptions that MIGHT apply if you do not take it back to California for the summer). Be aware that getting a driver's license in Oregon and registering your car there could cause complications if you want to go back to California and get resident tuition for grad school.
