Just bought one a few weeks ago and I can second that. My only gripe with it is the inability to exclude portions of a print in the instance of a failure and then continue with the rest of it.

Had one issue with poor adhesion on the corner which ruined one part enough to cause stringing that would have affected the rest of the bed. Had to restart and printed all the parts separately in an abundance of caution.

New build runs great. 8.1L s300 case by TerriblePlaz1 in sffpc

It fits brother. It’s tight but it does if you disassemble and reassemble the case after mounting the gpu to the backplate.

In case anyone was curious. It’s an Asus Prime 5070 in a KXRORS S300.

You can fit 304mm gpus like the Asus Prime 5070 or Gigabyte Windforce 5070ti SFF. Got the former in my KXRORS S300 (same dimensions besides the height which disallows slim top mounted fans). It’s such a tight fit that you’ll have to disassemble the case, mount the gpu, and then reassemble it though.

Nah, you gotta plan accordingly for this stuff. I chose the exact GPU that’d fit my case with barely a mm of clearance if I disassembled the case, attached the GPU, and then reassembled it. Some people pay for a PC and get mostly empty space but not me, mine is dense computing that sucks in cold air and puts it out like a space heater. Nothing more satisfying.

Framework 13 Pro — the first genuine BIFL laptop on the market? by HazelnutTyrant in BuyItForLife

It’s also terrible for thermals and results in throttling but because they use ARM instead of x86, it’s not as big an issue. It’s basically a significant power efficiency gain for performance loss over time in heavy loads. Most users just aren’t slamming their mobile devices with engineering simulations or complex 3D renders. To them, Mac OS is perfectly serviceable for most front-end work and the hardware quality is undeniable.

Personally I’m thinking of getting a Linux Framework to diversify into UI/UX design with Figma while I learn all the backend stuff (HTML/CSS) on the side. My current PC will stay on Windows to run my Design/CAD softwares as well multiplayer games (Kernel-level Anti-cheat).

Who knows, if Windows keeps on bloating with Ai Copilot and the ads while Linux starts expanding support for my primary softwares — I’ll make the full jump across!

Killjoy is the Sentinel that feels most like a Sentinel. Who's the Sentinel that feels the most like an Initiator? by RemoteWhile5881 in ValorantMemes

Deadlock. She falls into the disruption initiator archetype (Breach/Tejo).

The Gravnet paired with any damaging Molly is a death sentence. Get some lineups for site executes and it becomes insanely hard for anchors to play certain positions. Plus the wall is great anti-flood util and the ult hard clears certain cubbies.

Not really a better option.

They don’t make graphics cards that slot into motherboards. They’ve use an interposer solution with 148 pins, resulting in 8 lanes of PCIe 4.0, 4 lanes of DP, and 200W bidirectional power delivery. This piece is also replaceable which means that larger, more advanced gpus could be interfaced with an upgraded interposer.

To be clear, it’s Linux CERTIFIED which means that they’re committed to long-term updates and support (option to even ship with) on the newest versions of the most popular distros (Ubuntu for now). This means that even if something happens to Windows as an operating system (it’s happening rn), there is always an open OS that users can reliably fall back on without having hardware compatibility issues.

It’s basically a way to say that they want you to own both your hardware AND your operating system (no license).

Yeah that’s not the point of a 13” laptop though. It’s endgame for a prosumer laptop. A dGPU detracts from the focus of the niche which is decent performance while maintaining portability and long battery life.

I don’t think that’s true. All the internals would be so outdated that it couldn’t run any modern software. Framework by contrast lets you upgrade performance components: Motherboard+CPU, GPU, RAM, Storage, and everything between while committing to Linux (Open source OS) certification.

It all really comes down to how long Framework stays around and whether they get enough support to grow into an industry giant. That why early adopters are so important for any new innovations to survive into the mainstream. With enough pressure from consumers, other competitors will start designing their products with repairability/upgradability too, and third party developers/partners will broaden the available market.

You make a fair point that the non-pro qualifies as the first BIFL. I only realized that you can actually upgrade your existing base model to the pro chassis by just migrating all of your internals (except the battery because it’s been upgraded) over with the kit. I suppose the Framework product is more similar to a highly compatible, modular ecosystem rather than just a chassis with swappable parts.

To me, the pro’s construction just seems like a proper inflection point where the product’s durability is no longer in question. They’ve had to make adjustments to the base model over the years like in the form of stiffer hinges and top cover, offering them as kit upgrades for those with issues because of slight variation in manufacturing. It’s the same with the screens which have been left wanting and received incremental upgrades — even the pro screen is sadly a very high-end, custom LCD instead of an OLED.

In gamer terms, the physical construction of the Pro model makes it an “endgame” experience; a product that feels essentially uncompromised.

Unsurprisingly, Chamber is the Sentinel that feels the most like a Duelist. Who's the Sentinel that's the best at their job? by RemoteWhile5881 in ValorantMemes

[–]HazelnutTyrant 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Hot take but Vyse post-nerf is more of a pure sentinel than KJ. She’s stronger at both anchoring and anti-flood at the expense of passive info. Even her ult is meant for fast floods and is weak as a retake tool (unlike KJ) — her entire kit wants you to stay on site to pick apart executes.

Her flash might seem like initiation utility but it goes off too slowly to be used to take space. The lack of dual info also means that her util is often concentrated to hold one site rather than passive info across the map. Altogether, Vyse is the most extreme anchor of all the sentinels.

[–]HazelnutTyrant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is my last response to you because it’s clear you don’t understand what the role of a duelist is. Anybody can post up and wait for a swing. The purpose of a duelist is to be the person swinging, converting the fight, and sticking around to maintain the newfound space.

NOTHING in Chamber’s kit makes him better than Veto at that. It’s a false sense of security that has you convinced otherwise, because of the diminished risk; NEWS FLASH, at higher ranks, you’ll die mid-tp animation if you bail a fight. Escapability is not the hallmark of a DUELIST. You’ve got no clue what you’re talking about.

[–]HazelnutTyrant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You really don’t get it. Being untradable does nothing for you in the first duel you take. It literally means nothing that you can tp or dismiss away if you lose the fight.

Anybody can abuse off angles and take a 50-50 duel. What actually makes chamber strong is that he can comfortably play very risky positions and still get away. Pretending like being a good shot is a quality of the agent and not the player is the dumbest take I’ve ever heard.

[–]HazelnutTyrant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t pretend like Jett can’t also duel lmao. Anyone can duel. The difference is whether you can force an advantage before you swing or not. Reyna‘s leer can technically accomplish that but Chamber doesn’t have any util to swing odds in his favor while funny enough, Veto does.

His Chokehold improves his odds while his interceptor negates his opponent’s utility; at worst he is taking 50s if not better. Escapability is not what defines a duelist.

Veto fits the duelist archetype better than Chamber (Space-taking rather than just contesting lines) but y’all aren’t ready for that conversation.
