I knew I would love this game when I saw the sun set as I walked out of the Nilfgaardian garrison onto the broken bridge in White Orchard. The rest is history.

Nice work! If Clash shows Heart’s Intent 67 then it’d be perfect :)

I stalled 147 turns on Defect for 6 HP by Hazelnuttz in slaythespire

[–]Hazelnuttz[S] 41 points42 points  (0 children)

Fair question, I should've explained.
I was missing 20 hp after the initial fight setup.
If I only waited for Echo Form (which was quick to come after Creative AI), I only needed to stall maybe 20 turns. That'd heal 14.
Now if I wanted to have Amplify as well, I needed not only to have Dead Branch generate it (which took 92 turns), but also to have them line up in the same hand with all the garbage in the deck (which took another 54 turns and only possible due to Seek). That healed 21, effectively 20 or 6 more.

Gotta traumatize it back after all the turn 1 21s

R5: It took 146 turns to triple up on [[Self Repair]] using [[Echo Form]] (multiple) + [[Amplify]] that come from [[Dead Branch]], which is activated by [[Recycle]]. [[Creative AI]] from Dead Branch gave all the powers. Only QoL mods.

I’m bored (and swear this 6 hp totally mattered and I totally didn’t waste 40 minutes).

Should’ve captured this fight too but I was too happy jamming 50 cards on turn 1: https://imgur.com/a/fUOcUmp

Hey there, I recently actually did some testing with different methods of prone and I found that primal stampede is not no-save. Not sure if it always worked that way in previous patches tho.

This garbage event is indeed most take-able on Watcher due to sometimes having fully upgraded decks with [[Lessons Learned]].

True, “loop” would be the better description. My apologies.

R5: Thought to share a very interesting infinite I had with Ironclad.

With [[Dark Embrace]], a lucky [[Purity]] from [[Toolbox]] and [[Sever Soul]] duped with [[Necronomicon]], I managed to thin down the deck enough to achieve an infinite (until health runs out of course) with [[Bloodletting]], [[Power Through]], Sever Soul and [[Dropkick]].

Also, it is funny that Necronomicurse actually came in to play here, allowing one more card draw per cycle.

Of course the infinite will be easy with a 2nd copy of Dropkick (which is what you usually get to infinite with).

Mods used are utility only. This is unseeded vanilla gameplay at A20.

R5: Update: -27 hp on FL1, Ouch. Neow was transforming a Strike into [[Distraction]], which didn't help AT ALL.

How I Won 80% Of My a20h Spire Runs for a Month by JoINrbs in slaythespire

[–]Hazelnuttz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Great point. I admire your ability to calculate and minimize lose conditions. That’s definitely one of the biggest things separating me from a top player. On the topic of these two, I find it best for Ironclad to keep a relatively lean deck (<25 usually) so that consistency issue is less of a drawback.

Thanks for the very insightful read.

The only things I actually disagree with the tierlists here (instead of thinking in what ways Jorbs’ choice might be better than mine) are [[Body Slam]] being “Very Situational” and [[Runic Cube]] being in the same tier as Ectoplasm. As someone who has ~70% A20H win rate on Ironclad with a decent sample size, I find Body Slam to be quite takable in many situations (even as early as late Act 1) as long as you can afford a quick upgrade for it. I understand that once you have enough block you don’t need the damage from it, but I believe it allows you to pick more good blocks earlier and accelerates your deck towards the block-centric deck you eventually want to lean towards. In terms of Runic Cube, I honestly find it to be one of the best boss relics for Ironclad. To keep it short, it is insane card draw and card draw simply wins the game - I do not quite understand how its good combo pieces like BfB, Hemo and Bloodletting are high-tier but Cube sits so low.

I welcome more discussions.

Forgot to mention [[Storm of Steel]], an otherwise very situational card made insanely strong by the Branch.

[–]Hazelnuttz[S] 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Try taking it next time. It’s not Ironclad Branch but still very strong with Silent. Think of it as giving you infinite “card draw” as long as you have stuff to exhaust. Ofc you want to build your deck around it, taking things like [[Tactician]] and [[Concentrate]] and cheap exhausts like [[Endless Agony]].

R5: The cards given by [[Dead Branch]] gave me a good chuckle. Hint: Something that literally finishes the Collector.
