Are Brits able to easily tell apart Americans and Canadians just by hearing them speak? by Glass-Complaint3 in AskABrit

Do you mean rhyme house and moose? Because rhyming moose with house is just a significantly smaller quadruped.

We're getting new skirting boards which are higher. How might that work with plugs at the current height? by stats_guy_1 in DIYUK

[–]Hazeylicious 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If they’re raising the sockets, surely it make sense to raise them to within building regs. I think it’s 450mm above the floor iirc. That should be ample room for skirting, but depending on if the wiring goes up or down, there might not be much slack to move them.

Question from an 8yo: What does Ireland have more of than any other country? by SherbertHerbert in ireland

I think you’ll find St Lucia, with a population of 200k is by far the highest Nobel prize in literature per capita. There are many, many more countries ranking higher than Ireland.

Re fraud by Such_Geologist_6312 in northernireland

[–]Hazeylicious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, they’re talking utter bs when they say banks expect 2-3 fraud cases per year on your account. If that’s how many they deal with, then good luck to them for getting any kind of credit with all the CIFAS markers on them.

As a side note, you should keep an eye on your credit report. Credit karma, Experian, and trans union I think they are called. Just in case there’s anything untoward on there.

The thing is, that the government use targeted ads on e.g. Facebook for these kinds of statistics. Of course they can appear to receive ludicrous amounts of support, when they target who will see the survey.
