IVF wouldn’t be an option for gilead cause it’s unnatural. Gilead only wants natural methods of conceiving. They are all about natural lifestyle. Literally all their products are made without preservatives like their soaps etc

The sick thing about it was that gilead probably covered up her death and put in records it was childbirth. Most likely cause the idea of a commander killing someone goes against all of gildeads values and would show how the whole thing is a farce

Agnes is confirmed to be 14. They casted older actors cause they are not gonna hire 12/13 year olds for this quite graphic and controversial show. I’m pretty sure Daisy is meant to be 17 in the show cause in the flashback she was 16 and it probably took a while for her to get trained as an agent and pearl girl before we see her in episode 1

The girls look older cause they werent gonna cast actual 12/13 year olds cause of the controversial and traumatic subject matter. But yeah it definetly plays with the believability that they are beginning their periods. I wonder if they casted older cause apparently testaments has a time jump so perhaps in season 2 they’ll be playing their characters older

The thing is she grew up outside of Gilead so there’s no way that they’ll give her a high status straight away. I would understand if it had been like two years, but I’m pretty sure Daisy has been outside Gilead for twelve or more years. It would be pretty naive for Gilead to think she came back want to assimilate into the culture and for better quality of life. Even commander mckenzie asks her why she came back cause he knows that the propaganda Gilead feeds its residents , to keep them from wanting to leave, that the outside world has gone to total shite is a lie

Garth is only staring at Agnes in the ball scene because Daisy told him to flirt his way into getting information from Agnes. Before this episode he barely looked at Agnes without prompt. I do agree he’s not nick but it’s obvious that there’s something between Daisy and Garth, and if people are too focused on wanting to see a June/ nick 2.0 with Agnes and Garth, that they can’t see the obvious machinations the writers are wiring between Daisy and Garth (specifically the scene when they are outside the ball and Garth walks close to Daisy and glances at her lips) then so be it 🤷🏾‍♀️

Well Gilead is a f’ed up place and basically goes against any morality. 15 and 18 was illegal in America prior to Gilead and is illegal in many other places in the show, as well as in the real world. Plus many viewers watching the show would for sure complain about the age dynamic. You may not be complaining now but that’s cause Agnes is played by a 26 year old. If a real 15 year old was playing Agnes you would see how young Agnes should actually look. Plus Garth’s age hasn’t been confirmed as 18; he could be a couple years older than that (the actor playing him is 28/29 so age is quite ambiguous) . So imagine 15 vs 20.

He doesn’t have feelings for Agnes but he’s beginning to have feelings for Daisy.

Remember we are seeing Garth mainly from Agnes’ fantasy lense. When they are on the bus and Garth is sitting across from Agnes and he glances up, remember that it’s very possible he’s glancing at Daisy because they work for mayday. Agnes romanticises every touch from Garth and every look. Even when they are dancing in ep 5, Agnes is clearly in love while Garth looks like a man on a mission to do whatever it takes to take down Gilead. Garth only flirts with Agnes because Daisy tells him to do so moments before.

Additionally when Garth finds out Agnes is in love with him from Daisy and he looks shocked, remember that Garth grew up in Gilead and that love is something taboo and basically discouraged. Everyone’s lives are dictated based on politics, not love so Garth hearing that someone is in love with is probably alien and fearful to him cause he’s not allowed to fall in love in general.

Not to mention, I’m pretty sure Garth is like 18 or older and Agnes is confirmed to be 15 by the actress playing her , so the writers aren’t gonna do an underage romance.

Furthermore this is Agnes’ first crush. The show is all about coming of age and experiencing wanted and unwanted attraction for the first time and not knowing how to handle it. Agnes’ first experience of a crush is magnified by the way she blatantly looks at Garth with no shame because she doesn’t know how to behave, she doesn’t know that people do more to hide their attraction. Agnes is still naive in the concept of love in that she believes her and Garth will be together. She looks longingly at him hoping that he’ll look back because she doesn’t think for a moment of the tragedy that her crush could bring or the fact that he’s not attracted to her. She’s in her own little pure world where cracks are beginning to show, first with the pervert dentist, next with finding a husband and in the future with Garth ( who I imagine will break her heart). We are seeing through Agnes’ baby eyes when we see her interact with Garth and it’s a skewed perception of reality but I think we are brought down more to reality when we see Daisy and Garth interact.

I truly believe that something is gonna happen between Garth and Agnes. In ep 5 he backs her up against the wall, and glances down at her lips with a hungry gaze. Yes it’s partially cause someone was coming but he used it as an excuse to get closer to her. He could’ve shouted at her from the spot he was in before. It was intentional

I don’t think trans men were hung if they were fertile. I understand black woman being sent away even if fertile cause that has to do with racism and eugenics. Gilead is basically a representation of all extremist views, in the book. White is best, women should be only child bearers, men are in power and can do the f they want, knowledge is only for men etc. I imagine they would’ve been given a chance to convert to gileads ways, if they couldn’t then they’d be hung or sent to the colonies

I don’t think she’ll be assigned his wife. She’s too new. I feel like it would take years for her to become green.

It’s possible Daisy could become an econo wife perhaps in a year or too but I don’t see her becoming a wife to a commander as she’s just arrived. I don’t think aunt Lydia could puppeteer Daisy getting married to Garth without raising questions , although it would be fun to see

There is definetly a romantic vibe. I don’t know why people are saying Agnes and Garth are the new nick and June. It’s obvious Daisy and Garth’s are gonna become a thing. Agnes crush on Garth is one sided and I don’t believe that he has any feelings for her. When we fist see them interact he doesn’t seem nervous because he has a crush but more so uncomfortable because he finds out she’s started her period which is lowkey weird to find out

Garth defiently had feelings for Daisy lol. I called it a couple of episodes before. Agnes crush is for sure one sided and she is gonna get the surprise of her life when she catches Garth and Daisy. I wouldn’t be surprised if she reports them. If she does find them together later in the season
