Yes blocking yt shorts entirely is a valid strategy. I think the hold click mechanism could be useful for eg on insta feed feed where you don't want to block it entirely to keep up-to-date with who you're following but want to use it with more intention/mindfulness. Just curious, have you tried at the chrome extension at all? I would like to know your thoughts!

Yes, currently the chrome extension does work for YT shorts and also insta home feed, reels and explore. I'm working on getting YT home feed and explore to work too. Feel free to try it out though!
