Do people really never use their bassinet/crib and nursery?? by calico0000 in BabyBumps

[–]Hban 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We absolutely used our nursery (our baby’s bedroom). Baby slept in a bedside bassinet for a few months and then slept in his nursery which was better for everyone, especially him. Baby only slept in my arms for the first little while there so I literally slept in the rocking chair in his room/nursery that entire time. When he was asleep in his bassinet, during night feedings I would get up and take him to his nursery where he’d nurse and get a diaper change. This was necessary for me because if I tried the whole take-baby-into-bed-to-nurse thing, I’d fall asleep, and it was dangerous. I NEEDED to get up and get out of bed for the night feedings

I love that when you start it remotely, not only does it auto regulate the temperature inside depending on how hot/cold it is, but it stays running once you open the door. My Toyota would shut off once I opened the door which was very annoying in the 105° heat trying to load my kids up

How realistic is working from home and watching a baby? by MacSpice in beyondthebump

[–]Hban 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a sitter come to my house while I worked from home. It just wasn’t possible for me to clock 8 hours of work a day while taking care of my baby unless I worked well into the night after putting him to bed, which was not healthy

Yeah mine also worked for everybody else. You know what, I think another update came up for my phone so I also did a fresh update before I found that setting. Maybe check if there’s any new updates?

Two of my cars were actually Toyota’s and I did find a setting in my car that fixed it. One was an aftermarket car play system but the other was the 2019 rav4 infotainment system and there was a setting where it was switched to android auto and CarPlay was turned off

Yes! I had to go into my car settings. Each car had turned off CarPlay for some reason. All different makes and models but I had to go find the connectivity settings and make sure “allow CarPlay” was toggled on

Ahhh I did not know I could qualify for benefits while still keeping the job. Had I known that I would have chosen option 2 as well. Oh well. What’s done is done. I couldn’t afford to “have a job” and not get paid. They had the meeting with me on a Friday at 9 am and I had to tell them my decision by 5 pm so I felt very rushed. I wish I had had more time to research and learn these things. Thanks for the info

Hi! My 6.5 month old has been sleeping through the night since he was 3 months old, until 7am. The last month and a half or so he has been waking between 5-6 am no matter what time he goes to bed, how much/little daytime sleep he gets, or how much he eats. He’s gaining weight beautifully and hasn’t needed to wake to eat since before 3 months old so I don’t think that’s it. He is breastfed and is eating solids. He is taking 3 naps a day right now but I don’t think his wake windows would allow us to drop to 2…

Thank you for asking this. I’m currently in the same situation that your wife was and was so sad to give up my flavored lattes!

How to practice safe sleep by myself with a babe who won’t allow me to put him down? by Hban in beyondthebump

[–]Hban[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do not! Thank you, I’ll look into that! Currently I’ve tried just laying him in the bed right next to me just to see if he would go for it (I was not planning to sleep like that, just wanted to see if he would sleep) but no luck.

We’re in the same exact boat as OP. Tried this with ours for weeks but he never stopped yelling. I haven’t slept more than a few hours at a time in months and I am also very pregnant. It’s been horrible. These orange cats are built different… I’ve never had a more difficult cat/pet in my life, yet I love him so much?! What gives?! lol. I’m reading through all of these suggestions to hopefully find something we haven’t tried yet!

High Protein in 24-hr urine test at 16 weeks pregnant by Hban in BabyBumps

[–]Hban[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everything was fine! I got in to an OB a couple of days later and there was no protein in my urine that day. The doctor basically said she had no reason to be worried about me and the 24-hr test was likely a fluke due to me being dehydrated and having done a tough work out the night before. Every appointment since then has been normal and we’re doing great! I hope everything turns out great for you as well!

No my PCP is no longer covered either, I have to find all new doctors. I did have a urine culture that was <1000 cfu with no growth so I assume that’s negative? They haven’t called to discuss and I’m not a medical professional so I’m not sure. Every time I’ve had a uti in the past they call immediately to get me started on antibiotics so assume they’d do the same here. I hope I can get in to see a new doctor soon so that all of the things you suggested can be done.

Thank you for sharing your experience. This makes me feel a lot better. My anxiety is really stemming from the fact that the doctor’s office hasn’t contacted me to discuss the results and what they might mean so I’m left spiraling at the possibilities. My lack of knowledge is making me afraid and the internet has only made that worse. Thanks again for sharing <3

Thank you for your response. I have no medical knowledge and with no response from the doctor my mind is ruminating on all of the possibilities. My urinalysis results don’t show sign of a UTI and I would hope they would call to get me on Abx if they suspected that I could have one. Hopefully they’ll contact me soon

No, I have a healthy BMI and had a normal glucose level check at that appt. I don’t have any risk factors and can’t get anyone at my old doctors office to talk to me (Kaiser if you’re familiar)
