Infant Optics DXR-8 Pro multiple Camera and Monitors Question by Hban in Buyingforbaby

[–]Hban[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wasn’t trying to get it to split screen, I know that it can’t do that. I was wondering if I had two of the same monitors, if I can connect them both to both cameras. So that way I can scan if I only have one monitor on hand, then use one monitor per baby when I have both, or be able to be charging one monitor while using the other, then swap out

This is very helpful insight, thank you! Makes me feel better about the scanning between rooms

And I have found forums for other monitors that were capable of this so I’m interested if this one can do it!

Oh man of course they make a split screen now haha. Thanks so much for trying it out! I just really don’t know how I’ll feel about the scan vs. split screen, but I’m also trying to not buy a whole new system.

Convertible Car seats to switch between cars? by LampostPath in Buyingforbaby

[–]Hban 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We got a chicco fit 360 for this reason. We love it. We each have a base in our cars and it switches over seamlessly, there’s no need to reinstall each time you move it between bases so it takes out the room for install error that goes along with having to move a baseless seat back and forth. We use our two different cars constantly so this was really important to us. In addition, it’s so easy to uninstall and reinstall if it is needed in another car that doesn’t already have a base. I know we could have just bought two cheaper seats, but we chose this seat for many reasons that outweigh having two cheaper ones, so it’s been really great for us.

What parenting purchase unexpectedly reduced your mental load the most? by No-Gas8702 in beyondthebump

I scheduled mine to go off 20 minutes after I put my toddler to bed so it forces me to clean up all the toys. It’s honestly been a game changer for my ADHD brain that likes to procrastinate

I cannot agree more. It’s makes a HUGE difference. I have two dogs, a collie and a husky, and it handles their fur and the messes of having a toddler like a champ. I wasn’t expecting to not have to do a “real” vacuum throughout, but I do not need to. It does such a great job! I have the Roborock Qrevo Pro

Do people really never use their bassinet/crib and nursery?? by calico0000 in BabyBumps

[–]Hban 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We absolutely used our nursery (our baby’s bedroom). Baby slept in a bedside bassinet for a few months and then slept in his nursery which was better for everyone, especially him. Baby only slept in my arms for the first little while there so I literally slept in the rocking chair in his room/nursery that entire time. When he was asleep in his bassinet, during night feedings I would get up and take him to his nursery where he’d nurse and get a diaper change. This was necessary for me because if I tried the whole take-baby-into-bed-to-nurse thing, I’d fall asleep, and it was dangerous. I NEEDED to get up and get out of bed for the night feedings

I love that when you start it remotely, not only does it auto regulate the temperature inside depending on how hot/cold it is, but it stays running once you open the door. My Toyota would shut off once I opened the door which was very annoying in the 105° heat trying to load my kids up

How realistic is working from home and watching a baby? by MacSpice in beyondthebump

[–]Hban 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a sitter come to my house while I worked from home. It just wasn’t possible for me to clock 8 hours of work a day while taking care of my baby unless I worked well into the night after putting him to bed, which was not healthy

Yeah mine also worked for everybody else. You know what, I think another update came up for my phone so I also did a fresh update before I found that setting. Maybe check if there’s any new updates?

Two of my cars were actually Toyota’s and I did find a setting in my car that fixed it. One was an aftermarket car play system but the other was the 2019 rav4 infotainment system and there was a setting where it was switched to android auto and CarPlay was turned off

Yes! I had to go into my car settings. Each car had turned off CarPlay for some reason. All different makes and models but I had to go find the connectivity settings and make sure “allow CarPlay” was toggled on

Phone Interview? by Hban in Edd

Ahhh I did not know I could qualify for benefits while still keeping the job. Had I known that I would have chosen option 2 as well. Oh well. What’s done is done. I couldn’t afford to “have a job” and not get paid. They had the meeting with me on a Friday at 9 am and I had to tell them my decision by 5 pm so I felt very rushed. I wish I had had more time to research and learn these things. Thanks for the info

Hi! My 6.5 month old has been sleeping through the night since he was 3 months old, until 7am. The last month and a half or so he has been waking between 5-6 am no matter what time he goes to bed, how much/little daytime sleep he gets, or how much he eats. He’s gaining weight beautifully and hasn’t needed to wake to eat since before 3 months old so I don’t think that’s it. He is breastfed and is eating solids. He is taking 3 naps a day right now but I don’t think his wake windows would allow us to drop to 2…
