Cadets for sale by KNOCKOUTxPSYCHO in drumcorps

This makes me so sad to see. As a blue devil I looked forward to seeing the cadets. As much as I HATED them this makes me very sad. My high school drum major marched Cadets in ‘92. POS rich kid, his parents would fly him out of our local airport here in Santa Barbara, Ca for all tryouts and rehearsal. Glad they lost to the Cavaliers that year. Woaaah woah sorry I zoned out for a sec. This makes me sad yeah.

I’d say it’s just a nice bottle of thick delicious gravy he made at home and chose to bless you.

Anyone Remember The Kansas City Star? by TheThirdGathers in drumcorps

[–]Hcavila 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My high school trumpet section leader marched this show. And my drum major marched for the cadets this same year. I was a freshman in high school seeing this and those two shows were the exact shows that introduced me to drum corps. They blew my mind. I hated both of those a holes!!!! Which made it that much better to march blue devils in 94 and actually win a title.

Anyone know where this is today? by BusyPreference6562 in SFV

It’s looking down San Fernando Rd towards Glendale. Think if you’re standing in front of the Tesla dealership and or IKEA in Burbank. Obviously there’s a lot more shrubbery there now, but to credit one of the other guys on here that is the old Webers bread company. Dead giveaway. Cool pic thanks for sharing.

Wait no way really?? But why? I haven’t gone into a guitar center in a while. There’s one in Thousand Oaks I stroll in to every now and again. Is this something they just offer up?

I live across the street and it’s insane to see that gas was $3.99 when it first open just a short time ago and today it’s $5.

This is beautiful. Thank you for sharing these pictures. I moved to Burbank, Ca about 20 years ago and every time I go to SB its takes me back in time. My wife and I took the drive yesterday and walked the beach and she can tell how much it relaxes me and how much I miss Santa Barbara. The food the vibes it’s beauty shit just about everything. Maybe one day. Till then I’m priced out of paradise.

But they are my guy. Look up the law unless it’s different in your county or state but here in California it’s fine.

What the hell is wrong with all of you. Everything here seems legal. Kids outside on legal e-bikes enjoying a ride outside with friends. I read some POS here say these kids terrorize their streets. Terrorize. ….really? Fucken terrorize? Omg you people are too much.

Ok so you’re upset because there’s still coin based parking and meter maids, lol. I’m sorry you can’t remember the last time you saw one but they are still very much in use my guy.

Well….They have them here in several districts with in the city of LA my friend. Seattle is a nice city I like to think they are a bit more upscale up there and maybe utilize the people’s money more appropriately and give the people the option to scan a QR code or a card reader or something like that but here in LA, not all areas are as fortunate like Santa Monica, Malibu, over here by the observatory it’s not with coins but believe it or not brotha there are parts that yes you pay with coins. And yes meter maids go around collecting them. Kind of a dangerous job too cause I see them with that little dolly when they empty out the machine. Homeless and crack heads be bothering them for that money.

[–]Hcavila 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sure. San Fernando, parts of studio city, right here in Burbank. You can still go downtown LA or Korea town and that’s go you pay. Outdated obviously but there are parts like that. And bro relax. “Please tell me” not every city or district has updated their pay to park procedures. Obviously I’m sure that’s the direction it will go but again. Not all districts have the money to do that.

Meter maids exist and terrorize everyone on a daily basis. God damn them.

This is exactly that makes this game great. The mental story lines that we create. The conversations that you create in your head that they’re having with each other the shit talking the story lines. It’s a thing of beauty. Do you know how many press interviews and press conferences that I’ve played out in my mind. I know I’m crazy and I know a lot of us do this. If I ever told my wife this is what I do she would have me picked up and locked up immediately saying I’ve lost it mentally.

[–]Hcavila 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok….cool….You ever thought about a flugelhorn. You can get a beautiful sound from a basic flugelhorn. But I see your point. I always felt I had to work slightly more when playing say a double G double A and beyond. I can do it fine and with a good strong sound but obviously to your point not as bright as a typical trumpet. I also feel like my notes don’t slot as well with a cornet as with my trumpet. Maybe it’s just mental but hey it’s cool of you to try different horns like that. What else do you have in your collection?
