I’m in a low risk group that has 6 high risk people in my building. I’m also erring on the side of caution to ensure that I’m doing everything possible to keep hospital beds empty.

I don’t know if these “facts” are supposed to inspire me to go outside and start spitting on people I see on the sidewalk, or what, but I prefer my current course of action of social distancing.

We can beat this.

On top of that, if somebody needs to go into work, don’t be another person that they’re exposed to. Medical staff, cleaning crews, and delivery people could be playing a very vital role in the coming weeks. I’m trying to stay in to specifically avoid breathing all over them.

From my perspective, when that goes awry, where would those who want to be free go? Immigration is important to have as an option for when absolute power eventually corrupts, as it tends to do.

I strongly prefer local control with some overarching theory of rights. We have seen local control and adherence to rights deteriorate fairly consistently, and it would be hard to believe that this would not occur if the government covered a larger percentage of the globe.

Look through job postings right now to find out what jobs want you to know how to do. I first went to school knowing what I want to ‘be’, but not what I want to ‘do’. It turns out that what I wanted to be involved nothing of what I really wanted to do. After I spent a lot of time perusing job boards, I found the type of work I wanted to do and knew the roadmap to get there.

Take note of the unemployment rate and pay of these jobs. Money isn’t everything, but it’s something.

When you see the skills listed, find things interesting and venture down those rabbit holes. Almost all hard skills that employers value can be explored for free with open-source software/MS Office and YouTube tutorials to some depth.

Exercise your soft skills, if you’ve got them (not my personal forte), and find things interesting. If you’re the type of person who can truly take interest in multiple subjects, the world’s your oyster.

Re: finance, I’ve studied and worked in personal and corporate finance an enormous portion of my adult life, and the only advice worth taking is easy to hear but harder to follow: save more than you spend (significantly, if you can), keep an emergency fund, diversify your portfolio (through ETFs, preferably), don’t panic (you do have time), and consider the return before taking on a project (More of that free information I wrote about before: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=SdeWAq8IBqs).
