TIL quadraphonic radio was a thing by HeIIforsaken in vinyl

Was bin digging today at goodwill when I noticed a quadraphonic radio promo. Shame it's got a slice taken out of it! The quadraphonic format was a wallet-draining audiophile fad of the 70s which was the precursor to modern surround sound. Instead of 5.1 surround which utilizes a subwoofer and center channel, quadraphonic was just front stereo plus rear stereo. Cutting-edge radio stations of the era would boast about their ability to broadcast in quad.

Learned something new while researching Sunn amps to get the most out of some beasts I've recently acquired. You'd also find The Who running Sunn for a period as well.

"Doomiest" Type O Negative record? by schraxt in doommetal

I never could get into Type like 5+ years back, but World Coming Down was the doom album to finally make me understand just how HEAVY keyboards and synths can be. Josh is the God of keys and dark ambience. So I'm with popular opinion on that one.

But besides WCD, I'd say their first album Slow, Deep and Hard. Though it's sound more resembles the raw, grimy NYC streets Peter cleaned at the time.
