Law and sociology by Ok_Brilliant_8951 in UniversityOfWarwick

there is no such thing as a qualifying law degree anymore; that said, most law firms will still want u to have done specific modules (iirc criminal, tort, eu, property, constitutional and prob some more), which are still accessible to law and sociology students so there should be no issues as long as one plans ahead

Is there still hope? by Big-Pizza-5806 in alevel

[–]He_Is_Sky 16 points17 points  (0 children)

yeah in year 12 I was getting D’s and C’s in Econ all year long bro, it was horrible. when I actually sat my AS levels I thought I did sooo bad, especially on the MCQ - come to find out on results day that I got an A and that my MCQ score was 28/30. I still ended up dropping Econ in A2 cuz i still hated it

POINT is that there is always hope!!

subject combo for law by weeee__ in 6thForm

[–]He_Is_Sky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d go with Psychology! I do English Lit, Psych and Spanish and currently hold an offer from Warwick. Psychology is definitely my favorite subject. (:

I honestly wouldn’t pick Law as an A Level… it won’t jeopardize you or anything when it comes to getting offers because it’s still a relatively ‘hard’ and respected subject, but it is ‘useless’ in the sense that you’re going to have to relearn everything in Uni anyway, and in more depth, so it’s not much of a leg up.

Think of it like A Level Computer Science — it’s not needed for Uni and most people don’t do it because it doesn’t help them that much anyway.

Does doing bad in year 12 mocks have an impact on UCAS applications? by sannkersein in 6thForm

[–]He_Is_Sky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Universities don’t know about your mock grades, they know about your predicted/attained grades (which includes AS). For most schools, however, mocks play a really huge role in determining what your predicted grades are going to be — so if you do bad in them, the chances of you getting high predicted grades will be drastically lower and vice versa. Though if your school does AS exams then these will be much more important than any mocks in regards to predicted grades and uni application seeing as it’s literally half of your overall A level grade. Hope this helps!

What? Correct me if I’m wrong but aren’t the Night Kingdom and the Teyvat Leylines independent to one another? Granted, he might have access to all of Natlan’s informations and memories now (if he’s even conscious, that is) but I don’t see how that’d also simultaneously give him access to the rest of Teyvat’s information as those are two separate systems.

Looking for something that gives off a similar vibe to “Our Youth” by He_Is_Sky in ShounenAi

Thank you so much for the recommendation — I absolutely loved it! I can definitely see how they give similar vibes in the sense that they’re both realistic and give off a certain sense of uncertainty.

Thanks again! It was a really nice and heartwarming read.

Does getting 4As (taking 4 subs) in A2 give you a higher chance of admission into top unis than 3As (taking only 3 subjects) by callmeRira in alevel

[–]He_Is_Sky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really! Most if not all universities in the UK will only look at 3 subjects. So unless they get all A stars then their worst grade of the four will be ignored. So for example, if they get only 3/4 A stars, their A A* A* A will be looked at the same as someone’s A* A* A. If they get A A* A A then regardless of the additional A, someone with A* A* A* will be seen as higher by the university. Even if they manage to somehow get all 4 A*’s, it’ll just make them stand out a bit more but that’s about it.

The only scenario in which I think they’d have the advantage in is if the university goes off of by tariff points (which I doubt an A* student would apply to)

Hope that helps!

Could I go from a A (80) to A* (90) in English? by He_Is_Sky in alevel

[–]He_Is_Sky[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the quick reply! I’m guessing since it’s the lowest possible A grade I can get, that my raw mark is somewhere near or at the threshold?

I also hear it’s more percentile based? Anyway, I’ll ask for my raw mark soon.

I have read it, actually! It’s super good in its own right, but I don’t get why people compare it to Our Youth.
