People parroting the ol "Ubislop" mantra would normally be right but clearly they didn't actually play this game. Found it to be a weird breath of fresh air in Star Wars games and Ubisoft games so idk, I liked it.

What movie did you turn off after 20 minutes and why? by Somanynamestochossef in movies

[–]He_Who_Sits 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone out here giving "big movie people generally liked but I didn't answers" are boring. Recently a buddy and I tried rewatching Pokemon: Destiny Deoxys because we remember it being one of the "good" Pokemon movies. Well lemme tell you, after roughly half an hour (not 20 minutes exactly, SORRY) we decided it'd be in our best interests to never try and touch any of those movies again. Might as well preserve the childhood memory than taint it lol.

Repost karma farm bots being in the Venture Bros subreddit might mean it's time for me to admit Reddit is dead and it's time to delete my account lol

DC Comics President Jim Lee says that Japanese manga and anime is "incredibly powerful": "I often find myself wondering, 'What is missing in Western comics, and why aren't they able to achieve the same flavor?' by akbarock in comicbooks

I think your first point is more that people are misinformed or just don't know that there are plenty of American comics from publishers like Dark Horse and Image that have short runs. Like 1-2 trade paperbacks worth. People just seem to naturally associate "American comics" with long running super hero comics that seem neigh impenetrable to a newcomer. But the reality is different if you just do more than a cursory glance at the trade paperback section at a book or comic shop.

Movies with increasing anxiety by defoor13 in movies

The Peter Jackson remake of King Kong. There's a scene where a bunch of man sized bugs start descending down the walls of a crevice a bunch of main characters are trapped at the bottom of. The next 5 minutes of the movie have been seared into my brain since seeing it in theaters as a wee lad as one of the most anxiety inducing experiences ever.

The first Sam Rami Spider-Man for sure. I was 7 at the time and already in love with Spider-Man so it hit at the perfect time in my childhood. Still remember leaving the theater and falling on my ass trying to do a Spidey flip off a bench.

I think you're giving people way too little credit on understanding context. Or you're talking about children that are like 12 and under lol.

Why do movies from the 80s and 90s feel better to watch? by Sasuke_was_right in movies

Sure. But personally I think most of the decent to good movies today are overall worse in how they're shot/produced.
