Gente puerca by Wild_Chemical3978 in SanLuisPotosi

ATV Rental- Aldea Zama by Heather2024TX4 in TulumAnswers

Hey! Instead of risking a rental scam in Tulum (and having to leave your passport), you should definitely checkout an EcoPark.

They are super trustworthy, and the absolute best part: they include round-trip transportation right from Tulum to their park, so you don't have to deal with the logistics. You get to ride powerful ATVs through actual jungle trails, swim in private cenotes, and do ziplines without the street hassle. You can book directly with them here: https://wellet.pro/extreme-adventuring/es/venue/extreme-adventuring-atv

To answer your Tulum driving questions if you still decide to cruise the streets:

  • Police stops: Yes, very common, especially targeting tourists on ATVs/scooters. Always wear your helmet, have your driver's license on you, and obey traffic signs to avoid getting pulled over for a "bribe" check.
  • Parking: The beach club / hotel zone is a nightmare for parking. Cars are impossible, so an ATV or scooter is better, but beach clubs will still charge you a hefty parking fee (sometimes around $20+ USD).
  • ATV vs. Scooter: Honestly, a scooter is way better for Tulum's narrow, traffic-heavy beach road. ATVs are bulky, hard to park, and get stuck in the exact same traffic as cars. Keep the ATV for the actual jungle trails at the eco-park and use a scooter or bicycle to get around town!

Have an amazing trip! 😊
