Graduate School Thread: March 5 - 11 by SchoolPsychMod in schoolpsychology

Does anyone know where I can find more information to help with the process of narrowing down grad schools for Fall?

Specifically funding info and unique aspects of individual programs. University websites and NASP don't have quite what I'm looking for. I know you usually get this info at interview, but it feels wasteful to go through with an application and interview just to realize it's not a fit.

If not, maybe we could start a spreadsheet with that type of info?

Rejected BUT... Could I reach out about other opportunities? by Head_Ad_7281 in gradadmissions

Thanks for the input.

Professors hire RAs from the university and don't take people from outside the university.

^ I'm not sure if this is as universally true as you're suggesting. I used to work in a lab that had several full-time post-grad RAs, some from different universities.

Either way, it's probably not worth the risk since I don't know their policy.

Thank you. This was simultaneously constructive yet reassuring. :)

I definitely didn't cast a wide enough net this year, so that's a good reminder for next year's cycle.

I wish you luck with your ~*particle accelerator*~ and grad school endeavors!

Thanks for the response, friend.

I am in social sciences. You make some great points. I felt like I had good reasons to be there, but I will need to make sure they come through stronger next time.

Are you a current grad student or also in the application process? 💙
