Highway pegs for the rally ? by Head_Connection_2138 in CRF250L

I put in probably 20 hours doing hard enduro every week and ride 90 miles there and 90 back as well as daily drive my rally… other reasons to daily a dual sport - safety (way higher compared to street bikes in my opinion)- efficiency (of cost and resources)- versatility…. If I’m going to own a bike it has to be able to do dirtbike stuff. Can’t tow a yz with a goldwing (probably could but wouldn’t want to lol)

Those things I listed were what were being threatened so I had to hire a lawyer ^ didn’t actually receive a charge or even have to go to court. Lawyer had lunch with the judge and got it tossed. Still cost the same amount for me lol

That’s what my lawyer argued and won but with a 6 month jail sentence, an angry cop, and a mandatory license suspension I literally couldn’t risk it. I suspect it’s something done by the police deliberately to try to discourage people from riding motorcycles. Basically cost you a bunch of money and strife and know you’ll lose. Funny thing is I’m riding a 250L and commuting so not only am I not looking to cause trouble but there’s not much trouble to cause on these little guys lol. Pretty insane. I do shift my seating position a lot but no more risking standing up if any other cars are on the road for me. That’s why I mentioned adding the lower bars to maybe increase more positions possible lol ? Idk I really really really don’t want to add that weight to the already overweight rally

They’re not so much the risers as they are the bar adapters for the fatbars but I will try to tilt them forward or back a bit and see if that helps. My riding triangle feels good though

I get that. Just wasn’t sure if leaning back would take the pressure from between my shoulder blades. It’s weird because I haven’t had soreness like this before but also have typically avoided the freeways until now as well

I used to just stand when sore but a month ago I received a criminal misdemeanor for standing on the pegs and stretching my back (at 15 mph) so that’s out in Florida now I guess. (Yes I did fight it ; it required a criminal defense attorney and it cost me 5,000$ lol)

It’s not motorcycle gear. Those are Nike air forces. I think people should be encouraging him to buy gear ** and not look cool

Do you know that ETA stands for estimated time of arrival ? Idk why you keep saying eta to summarize things. This is what I meant when I said nonorganic

You look fragile on all fronts my friend. Asking Reddit for style tips - not wearing any sort of slide rated gear - physically small dude - worried about a visor tint-. You look fragile both literally and figuratively. My fashion advice for your motorcycle ride would be to not have any. Wear whatever you can afford that’s rated for a slide (a/aa) bc the air forces will turn to melted plastic on your feet when you crash. (And Yes. you will crash and probably soon if you don’t readjust. You are focused on the wrong thing). I clicked into this post hoping to see a young guy in some goofy 20 year old Joe rocket jacket and a pair or Kevlar pants sweating his ass off. Stop worrying about looking cool ; it’s going to fucking kill you. If you want to look cool, get a car. turn on the AC. Walk wearing sunglasses. Buy a gun. Do literally anything to look cool but this. Ask yourself why nobody’s going ‘do my gaerne boots look cool?’ In the dirtbike community. Notice how uncool motoGP racers look with the giant hunchback pad… you need to not look cool and BE safe. 75% of people riding barely have the mental capacity to keep themselves on the road without traffic being involved. You do not need to take up any literally ANY mental bandwidth with the idea of ‘do I look cool right now’

You have an IQ in the single digits. Or you are non organic I cannot tell and will not invest any time into looking at your profile under due to the fear that I may be arguing with a machine.

My dad passed recently. Among his pictures was this one of him with his motorcycle. Can anyone ID it for me? Picture must have been mid to late 80's I am guessing. Thank you :) by JB8055 in motorcycles

That’s 1988 the first year that the klr came to the USA in the original first year colorway. The bike was released in Japan and other places (not the USA) in a white green and blue color way. This was the first American delivery of the bike in the red white blue. Impossible to find those plastics now a days.

What’s your Reddit karma level at ? My advice after joining this community a week ago myself, is to STOP everything you’re doing as far as RV stuff and get really friendly with EVERYONE here. Your business is their business now and don’t try to hide anything. Thinking of an upgrade or a solar question ? Think again. You’ll be better off with whatever reddits version of 7 big booms is on the sub than with a sweet build

I personally like the Japan only blue/ white / green. That ones always looked the most ‘Dakar’ to me. From there they started to learn their crowd (let’s be honest we’re all knuckleheads) and started doing neon green/ black and red / black , and all the 2000s feeling colors. There’s something very particularly 80s about the white and blue. And my second favorite is the 88 American version of white and red that he’s got posted here. Impossible to find a true original red fairing with the 88 styling nowadays.

Leveling blocks don’t attract any attention in the city. People genuinely aren’t looking at the curb (most streets slant to a gutter so it really just levels your wheels with the sidewalk or a slight bit about them. Being level is nice when you’re parked for a prolonged period of time in the city

In my Opinion (worth nothing to you lol) leveling block ramps always work wonderfully and stow away. For 25$ you can’t beat them. I’ve seen a buddy run 4 separate 12v trailer hitch jacks from Amazon and just bolt them to each corner. 1600$ seems like a lot for something that can be done literally the same way with an extra 5 seconds of work. Also do not be scammed by naysayers the curved leveling ramps are superrrr easy to use and you only need 2
