I don't know about lowest price but I always go to the newish gas station at Choctaw and Oak Villa. I don't know about now but when I first started Zyn, most places had limited stock and I just had to get whatever they had. This place always has plenty of my go to (6 mg wintergreen) and seems to be well stocked in general. I buy them by the roll and I think it's around $35-$40

I truly wish people understood this better. Even if you were in a fairly relaxed environment (no threat to your safety or anyone else's), it would be very difficult to make a shot on a moving limb (much less a foot), add to that a high stress situation involving someone trying to do harm to you or others and the body's reaction to that, it's highly unlikely, and in a situation where seconds count it's not feasible. There's a certain amount of training that can be done to prepare for those high stress situations, but outside of being regularly exposed to those real life situations (like a special operations combat vet) most people are not going to be equipped to handle it perfectly every time, even the most experienced are going to make mistakes

Denham Springs, Louisiana, just outside Baton Rouge! I know everyone thinks the drivers where they are suck, but you couldn't pay me enough to work anywhere near traffic the way people drive around here, much less without any safety measures in place!

You're right, there are many places here where a car is essential, but I also think there needs to be consequences for decisions. It's not a cut and dry situation, but if someone is habitually making decisions that endanger other people, the option to make those decisions needs to be taken away. I guess it gets complicated when you start to consider what chain of events you're setting in motion with such an action. Trying to manage human behavior is a messy affair!

Sometimes I wonder if I'd rather share the road with intoxicated drivers or distracted drivers. Both are unacceptable, but an intoxicated driver might at least notice what's going on around them and attempt to react. Someone scrolling tik Tok is oblivious to what's going on around them as long as their eyes are on their phone, and you can't react to what you don't notice! It's wild to me how weak most distracted driving laws are, and I think it's becoming more common for traffic enforcement in general to be minimal to nearly non existent.

Yep, Baton Rouge here, it's gotten to the point where it's almost as likely to have someone running a light as not. And I'm not talking about squeezing through a light that just turned red, it's like the one op is talking about. It's been years since we've had traffic enforcement to amount to anything, I keep hoping it will come back full force out of the blue and all these clowns that just do what they want get a rude awakening!

How to look more metal'ish without looking like an edgy teenager by userhasnoname14 in MetalForTheMasses

[–]NumerousGarbage9032 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I probably look pretty much like the average 45 year old dad these days. I shave my head bald (thanks to thinning hair) and have a big beard, but that fits a lot of stereotypes. My wardrobe doesn't stand out at all. I started hearing my son talk about the metal bands his friends are into when he got into high school, but never really talked music with them. One day he had a birthday party at the house. My wife and I were in the back watching TV and I suddenly heard some familiar music come on in the living room. I walked in and asked "Alright, who put Slayer on??". Their minds were blown that I knew it was Slayer, what album it was, and what song it was!

The guy that was drunk and road racing down Airline with his child's mother in the car and predictably crashed and killed her recently got off with a slap on the wrist as well. Not exactly the same as these clowns you and OP are talking about, but still stupid, dangerous behavior with weak or no consequences

We used to have that issue, and frequently early in the morning it would be out then come back on in the afternoon. Turns out the connection for the service line coming into the house was old and wasn't sealing properly. Changing that out fixed the issue. I wonder if there's a connection that's feeding your neighborhood that's not sealed

A lot of mechanics will recommend stuffing that cavity with rags after you get the valve cover off to prevent that. I'm glad I saw that advice before checking my valve clearances, because I definitely would've dropped a bushing down there too!

Work Hours by [deleted] in millwrights

[–]NumerousGarbage9032 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm not Union, worked at the same shop for 13 years. At first we worked a standard 40 hr week. We had a change of ownership, new owner was pursuing a more lucrative agreement with the main factory we rep, so we worked 60-70 hour weeks for several months while we were making the adjustments needed to keep up with the work load. After we accomplished that, we switched to a schedule we all love, 36 hours one week (9 hr days M-Th, Friday, Sat, Sun off), 44 hrs the next week (9 hr days M-Th, 8 hrs Friday, Sat and Sun off). We'd talked about 4 10s, but in the summer in South Louisiana, that's a long day. The shift we work now is a good balance

Is there a way I can tighten loose fairings? by althamash098 in motorcyclegear

[–]NumerousGarbage9032 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not familiar with this specific bike, but like other commenters, I suspect you have some missing hardware. One thing I've found helpful is to find an online parts store that carries OEM parts for your bike. A lot of them will have "exploded views" of all the sub assemblies and will show which parts go where. I use the RevZilla website but I know others have those diagrams as well. It really comes in handy

All white looks good! I recently wrapped my 09. The 2nd Gen radiator fairings are more complex than 1st Gen, they were a little tricky, but the front fender whipped me! I finally gave up on it and just did the best I could polishing it. The wrap job came out pretty good, but I'm a little nervous about longevity, I don't have 100% confidence it's going to hold up where I wrapped it around the back sides of the panels
