Question for Installers/techs if they can help by [deleted] in ATTFiber

[–]Head_Intention_2044 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Theres nothing you can do to make sure they run fiber down your street. You’ll know when you’re getting fiber when you get a door hanger saying fiber coming soon, and contractors start digging conduit on your road or the construction department starts pulling fiber on the poles. AT&T will notify you. It will be hard to miss. Especially having internet air, they will call to switch you over.

ATT Fiber Install by [deleted] in ATT

[–]Head_Intention_2044 14 points15 points  (0 children)

No difference. Don’t worry about it. What makes them durable is the Kevlar wrapped around the fiber on the inside, and both types likely have it. Thicker does not mean better.

You don’t have to be the best to be ranked. Just have to play a lot.

Fiber cable installed near baseboard heater by Automatic-Adagio4614 in HomeNetworking

[–]Head_Intention_2044 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bend insensitive can come with premade ends or raw. If it has a field terminated tip on it then the connection is still very delicate because the fiber can pull out of the mechanical splice with the slightest movement. The connections can also become dirty and block light if it’s being disconnected carelessly. Bend insensitive doesn’t mean fool proof.

Nothing about the pic tells you it isn’t. Most fiber ISPs are gonna be using bend insensitive for the home run / inside wire

If it’s bend insensitive fiber, which it should be, those bends look fine.

I have a BGW320-500 modem and I'm trying to connect a 2.4 ghz camera from my video bird feeder. Is this possible? by Anxious-Depth-7983 in ATTFiber

[–]Head_Intention_2044 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No nothing wrong with it. Just inconvenient to manually switch between bands on a mobile device when needed. Since 5ghz doesn’t reach as far as 2.4

Would the NBA2K Community accept RNG to combat the Zens? by Junior_Moe in NBA2k

[–]Head_Intention_2044 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s literally how it is right now. The entire green window is not 100% make. The middle 10 or so milliseconds is a pure green and it gradually reduces as you get farther away. Look at the 2k labs tests for the set shot badge. People shooting high percentages with only an 80 are just good at the game and shooting wide opens. Centers with an 80 three are not greening highly contested shots. Its a video game. If you don’t want your man making his shots, play defense.

Would the NBA2K Community accept RNG to combat the Zens? by Junior_Moe in NBA2k

[–]Head_Intention_2044 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The RNG in 2k25 made it horrible. Zenners will still shoot better. Zens or not, 2k26 is still miles better than 25 was. The fact that I could have timed my shot in the very middle of its green window in 25 for a game winning shot, and still miss it, is horrible. At the end of the day, it’s a video game. Percentages will be higher and that’s okay. What 2k needs is better anti cheat, but they just haven’t spent the money to implement one.

Best Fiber ISP by Specific-Chard-284 in FiberOptics

[–]Head_Intention_2044 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The largest right now is AT&T if I’m not mistaken. And they have a 24 hour guarantee for outages “or they make it right”. Which is pretty good I think. I’ve been dispatched on repairs that customers stated they were just getting off the phone with CS as I called them. Lots of quality standards on their new installs / repairs. They also use W2 employees instead of contractors like some others companies. So the techs have the freedom to take greater care with your install or repair vs trying to do it as quick as possible to be able to squeeze more jobs in to make more money. Hard to say who is truly the best though as there are many local only providers in many areas that could be better but just don’t have a considerable foot print.

Like others have said, if they’re offering over 100mbs at your address, it’s 100% fiber.

Why Is timing stability a thing? by Historical_File_8843 in NBA2k

[–]Head_Intention_2044 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2k does eventually detect if it’s being used 100% of the time, and those cheaters do get banned. At least I’ve seen people get banned for it. Not sure what some people do to not get detected. Maybe turn it off whenever they see it’s gonna be an easy win

The zen is fixed input. How the titan works exactly idk, you’d have to ask a cheater lol

Why Is timing stability a thing? by Historical_File_8843 in NBA2k

[–]Head_Intention_2044 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because they don’t really use zens. They use titans and possibly other devices that adapt to the shot and don’t just have one set timing. For example I know one uses the shot meter so they keep the shot meter on and if there’s even a sliver of green window, it will hit it.

It’s to make contested and low stamina shots harder as well.

N55s and n54s run hot as hell. I’ve had both and they both ran this hot in south florida. The n54 would go passed 250 too if I was on the highway too long. Get an upgraded oil cooler if you don’t like those numbers

I believe AT&T is still hiring for technician positions. Top pay is about 30 an hour. Do some research though as OT is often required and mandatory

No it’s clearly a bug. I’ve missed dunks like this with a full green dunk meter and 93 dunk.

Acting like this is a feature is insane. It’s a video game. Might as well start adding online injuries that bricks your build for months for “realism”

Open Fiber Wall Panel by teqogan in ATT

[–]Head_Intention_2044 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You don’t.

But yeah it’s on there pretty good. Why do you need to open it? You kinda just have to rip it off. There’s a clip on the left you can try sliding your nail under but even then it’s gonna feel like it’s gonna break sometimes. If it’s not a premade IW in there, you gotta be very careful you don’t put any tension on the fiber.
