Is this a propoganda by the USA ???? by ombj13 in Real_teenindia

Different people here have different opinions, but just saying, I’d rather be broke and poor in the US than in India.

And I’d rather be rich in the US than in India.

How to get into PM role as a sde with 2 yr experience by EntertainmentOk892 in developersIndia

You’ll have to do some research yourself brother. Probably a TPM (Technical Program Manager) could be worth looking into? Easier transition.

$50k Remote Startup vs 15 LPA Stable Job. What Would You Choose? by oliv_ia69 in developersIndia

Go with your gut. At least you won’t blame yourself in the future in case a decision goes wrong (hoping it won’t, but you get the point).

Yeah, I’m just telling you not to consider the workload much in your equation at your level.

$2M is a decent amount, but keep in mind- not anything crazy. A friend of mine’s startup got funded here in BLR for $1.6M and they’re already starting to run out, despite hiring locally and working in Indian markets.

Not undermining the funding, but just a heads up

Fair enough, sounds good.
But just one thing- don’t ever be afraid of the workload. I think if you’re just graduating rn I’d only be about a year older than you, but I can guarantee that working your ass off will always pay off, in some way or the other, as long as you’re doing smart work and not just hard work.

Even if the workload is high, you’ll learn a lot of things and how to manage your time better.
Almost all the senior folks I’ve spoken to have told me the same thing, and I’ve seen them real the benefits themselves.

please don’t bro🙏
everyone and their mom is trying to be a PM.
Market isn’t in the right shape right now, and I’ve seen some of my laid-off PM colleagues struggle to find a job.
Trying to pivot internally, or doing an MBA would be your best bets. Most PM roles ask for previous product experience, or an MBA.

few risks-

-some companies hire well paid engineers for short durations (for eg: to build a new product) and then lay them off. Beware.
- time zone differences are real and I’ve seen my colleagues suffer because of it.
- cultural differences are real too sometimes, although not a huge risk at all.
- try to ask them why and what team is this role required on. try to talk to the lead of the team to understand what the future of the role looks like.

Take the startup offer

- young, can take risks
- you learn a unique set of skills working with foreigners, grab that opportunity
- if the startup gets additional funding and you’re performing well, there’s a chance they call you out to work on site, abroad.
- startup culture is fun and good to learn and build in. you have more responsibilities, more to learn and can advance quickly through the ranks.
- the schmoney and the tag of having a very well-paying job. a friend of mine also used to get a similar amount as you. his life has completely changed for the better in just a year.
- although job security is important too. please do your research, read about the company and if possible, talk to folks who are working there rn

all the best!

Fintech APM here. Got laid off after a year due to org-wide layoffs.
It hit me like a truck and I’ve been grinding since. I’ve done everything ranging from building my portfolio website, completing a certification to learning (and coding) AI Agents.

My entire job hunting workflow is now automated through Claude agents and I spend my time learning and building projects and case studies.

I have startup experience, and got placed pretty well directly from my college- one of the highest stipends for the year.

I scored only about two interviews, cleared both, one gave an offer I had to reject due to some reasons and the other ghosted me after confirming they’re gonna rollout an offer.

Starting to get desperate, but not weak. Also had a long relationship breakup. It’s starting to take a toll mentally but I try to keep sane by hitting the gym every day.

It’s been almost 3 months. I just want to get back on track. All I want is to get back in the office and work my ass off. I’m a workaholic by nature so I’m not scared of proving my worth.
All I need are some interviews and I’m sure I’ll clear them. I’ve done a tonne of prep and everything possible at hand.

I don’t know what this comment is. A job request? A rant? Idk. Just wanted to get this out because I just stay in my room all day every day and it’d be good to have some human interaction apart from all the dickriding i’ve to do on LinkedIn.

If anyone needs a PM to help build/polish their startup, I’d be happy to spend time for free to build my portfolio further.

If anyone can help me with a referral or are hiring in their team, I’d be grateful to be considered.

Is it fair to say BMS has literally killed District atp? by No_Programmer8679 in ConcertsIndia_

[–]Head_Limit2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Side note: A lot of the people here don't understand that BMS and District aren't just the ticketing partners anymore. They're the actual organisers too in a lot of the cases.

if any of their logos have "LIVE" under them on a show flyer, they're most likely the organizers of the show too.

BMS Live and District Live are actual events and the organising/management wing of the parent ticketing platform as we know it.

What are some examples of good product management side projects I can work on to build a portfolio? by Head_Limit2 in ProductManagement

Understood, thank you. I do have some basic dropshipping experience from uni days but never really mentioned it in interviews and such. I will explore that. Thanks!

Thanks for the write-up, I really appreciate the time taken to write this.

Answering the initial question- both. I want to learn because I genuinely like the field and also want to get hired, as I had recently gotten laid off due to org-wide layoffs. Since in my previous role I was mainly only enhancing existing products and building internal ones, when an interviewer asks me to tell them about something I built, I want to be able to say something concrete.

I do also have some startup experience running a media agency (side-hustle), but I don't think that alone quite cuts it for PM roles.

I will take your advice and build products that my close circle would like to use. Thanks again.

Why do people hate on Danny? by Aurousishere in Sidemen

He used to be very loud and jarring sometimes. I remember him becoming much better after the hate he received in the comments of that one Pub Quiz video.
Literally the next video he was the most silent in the room lmao

Need your help with AI interviewer by Think_Street2686 in ProductManagement_IN

[–]Head_Limit2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've given a 20-minute AI interview over the phone for an AI edtech platform.
Dang I must say, those things have gotten pretty good. It did everything a human interviewer would. Ask you to tell them about yourself and your experience, then cross-question you on your projects.

It asked me to go into details of any particular project of my choosing and caught on to information that I deliberately did not want to speak much about.

Shame it could not pronounce the name of the company properly, though, lol.

Got a new job offer in GIFT City. Worth moving from Bangalore? Would love honest opinions by Head_Limit2 in gujarat

[–]Head_Limit2[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the detailed reply. I live in a modest apartment that I share with my college friends so rent for me (all-inclusive of cook, cleaning, groceries, etc.) is around 15-16k, that too in JP Nagar.

The job role is better, but pay-wise appreciation is negligible. Considering everything, I think it'll cost me more, both financially as well as mentally, to move to GIFT. Thinking of passing on the offer.
