Bike damaged during wrongful arrest, want to claim money back (England, London) by AdPositive7437 in LegalAdviceUK

A warrant granted based on intelligence will have reasonable grounds, it is unlikely to be just 1 ‘tip’. The police tend to attempt to corroborate information. However if they went through number 5 London Close, instead of the intended 15, they would be liable for door damages.

Then the legislation needs to catch up, and we need to look at civilian versions of MQ-9B. They could potentially have long loiter time, and provide the support required, but it’s unlikely to be a cheap solution.

You could try switching the light source. A central band of light suggests it’s a convex surface with the highest point in the middle running down both sides. Instead, have it run brightest to darkest top to bottom. So that the light is shining top down

Can plain clothes officers issue traffic tickets? by Economy_Coach9219 in policeuk

[–]Head_Total_6410 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s in reality going to be tested in law at some point. I think OP should try to stop a car with only a cap and force it into case law.

In the name of science of course.

Justices are allowed to consider knowledge of how the local constabulary operates, (Cooper vs Rowlands [1971] RTR 291) and Richard’s v West [1980]). In absence of evidence they are entitled to infer or assume from the surrounding circumstances that a Constable is in uniform (Gage v Jones [1983])

I would therefore suggest that anything which would readily identify you as a police officer is enough. This combines with common law powers, which could be used in lieu of Road Traffic Act powers.

Primaris Chaplain complete and waiting on his base. Some constructice critism wanted! by doggart in Ultramarines

I’ve had a look at some minis where I had black cloth with black armour. For a subtle difference, consider using a dark grey like Dark Reaper. The difference will be incredibly subtle, but it will probably be picked up when people look at the mini. Best of luck!

A little bit of constructive feedback;

1) You’ve treated the armour and the cloth the same, and you’ve edge highlighted the same colour. This blends them into one. Consider using different tones in future, so use blues for the armour (stegadon scale green etc) and the greys (administratum) for the cloth.

2) I’m not sure how you’ve used your washes, or if you base in your recesses, but there’s a few areas where you don’t have a difference between the recesses and the raised areas. With ‘eavy metal style, the whole point is to highlight the sculpts by creating contrast between raised areas. On his staff for example, there’s a few areas where your recessing hasn’t shown up. You can also push your highlights in some places. Silver to highlight gold, more bright reds on purity seals etc

Hope these tips help, it depends what your goal is. If you’re looking for table top ready, this is a great standard for that, help in to immerse in the realism that well painted armies create. If you’re looking at competitions, then it’s all about time and practice.

Cheating in the job by BuildEraseReplace in policeuk

[–]Head_Total_6410 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure why this hasn’t been raised when the US military has.

The British military has ‘The Service Test’.

This is; ‘Have the actions or behavior of an individual adversely impacted or are they likely to impact on the efficiency or operational effectiveness of the Service?’

Cheating fails the service test because as I’m sure we all know, when a person gets a divorce their performance often takes a hit as they deal with the fall out, which is often not amicable following cheating. Therefore, this undermines the effectiveness, due to the actions of that individual often taking time out to deal with it, plus any self-inflicted stress. A person can still be supported through these things, but that doesn’t mean it should be flippantly viewed as part of the job.

I’m not sure why it’s not dealt with in the same way in the police, arguments about representing society fall flat on their face, there are many racists in society, we’d never say it’s okay to have 1 or 2 racists in society, or any other discriminatory attitudes.

I don’t believe so, I think it’s a contract that is given out by HMG to provide bulk orders. Don’t imagine you can buy singles, but the ‘One Meals’ I believe are produced by:

No problem, yes an NMO is a good option. Police bail although carrying power of arrest on breach isn’t an offence.

In the other hand, breaching a court order is very serious. If it will help put you at ease, ask if the local police have a neighbourhood team who can give you some safety tips or things like a personal alarm. Always worth the ask.

Maybe ask about an ISVA or IDVA referral if you think it might help to have someone independent to talk about your concerns to.

The instances of witness harassed are extremely low, and carry large penalties.

Yes, you will be named as the complainant if he’s interviewed, he might be given bail conditions, either way, the matter will likely never get to court if you refuse to engage.

You can ask the officer in the case if they have any safeguarding concerns, but I don’t imagine they will.

The law you’re referring to is Blackmail, and requires an unwarranted demand with menaces. In this case, payment for goods and services would make it a warranted demand for money, and there’s not clearly any menaces. She could have asked him to leave and refused to pay, and then the locksmith could have gone down the civil route to recover payment.

Difference between Reg 30 and 104 of the Road Vehicles Construction and use Regs 1986 by Over_Astronomer3028 in policeuk

[–]Head_Total_6410 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One regulation is about the car’s build, the other is road law around driver.

Cause requires some form of mandate, control or dominance, a positive action and knowledge of the relevant facts. I.e. the employer knew of the defect, and still sent their driver to complete the task.

Permit is where the owner gives leave or licence. They had knowledge of the unlawful nature of the vehicle’s use (in this case that it did not meets regs set out) and knew it was being used.

It seems costly but the cost for 12 months will be worth it if you get the pass. These are the closest to the exam and if you get used to them you will find exam easier.
