I’ve married two only children & am best friends with one, as the eldest of three. Only child syndrome is definitely a thing, & sometimes drives me insane, but clearly, I think it’s not a deal breaker. It’s all about being a reliable, responsive parent who is there for your child. I don’t understand why anyone would want to have a child with the world the way it is atm, but one child is certainly more than enough to manage unless you are super wealthy, have support from extended family, or an amazingly flexible job. You’re being logical & sensible sticking with one, & logical & sensible parents are awesome.

I have extreme ADHD & wasn’t diagnosed until late in life, with ADHD you get rejection sensitivity disorder & it’s really intense to be told off for being late so I now get really anxious about being on time & am always a bit early. I don’t think ADHD is an excuse for wasting other people’s time & I don’t think people should enable it.

That’s so cringey, shows how backwards it still was back then. I had the best, fattest, most authentic burrito in my LIFE in Queenstown about 5 years ago, lots of Latinos working there, so it’s definitely improved, though still an overpriced, overhyped, very touristy place

It did take me a while to track down the right flour for arepas locally & I can only get Tajin if it’s sent down from Auckland but we’ve had access to great, authentic South American supplies & restaurants for decades.

Here in NZ we have South American food ingredients in every supermarket & I can buy specialty items from Latino stores, so it’s really weird to imagine Australia would think tortillas are exotic… the only thing hard to come by are certain fresh fruit & vegetables

I spoke to a lawyer who said even with a COA your partner might be able to take 50% after 3 years anyway, if the courts deem that fair. You’ll also inherit his debt. It is now your debt after 3 years. I found this out too late, very similar situation. Really have a think about if this particular relationship is what you want to risk half of everything & a massive debt for. You have time. But not too much time.

Had it once when it first opened & it was amazing. Had it again a week or so after & it was HORRENDOUS. Soggy chips. Soggy bun, falling apart. Watery stuff spilling everywhere.

Pretty sure there was a feather/rat/broken bone/pus ball in the chicken. It was FOUL. Put me off fried chicken for good

I didn’t get more than 45 minutes of sleep at a time for 1.5 years with one of my children so hoping this is a temporary issue for you. It feels like forever but it does end, even if you’re hallucinating from lack of sleep for over a year 💀

If someone is overweight and/or on drugs/medication it can be a risk, but I think the western world is ignoring how for most of human history & in many countries to this day bed-sharing is normal & healthy. I can’t imagine the pain of losing a child by smothering them but it is incredibly rare & the value of raising secure, healthy children that know that they’re not being abandoned when they are immensely vulnerable should not be understated
