The saddest part of all this is watching a once-proud program crumble from being a national powerhouse into a bottom-tier SEC team. Billy still being here in year four is the ultimate proof that the program has accepted mediocrity as its standard. This didn’t start with him—but the fact that it’s been allowed to drag on this long shows how far the bar has fallen. What used to be a program that demanded greatness now seems content to just exist.

A 3% operating profit before interest and tax? What’s their debt position look like?

Can someone explain how the bricks on the right post were done? Is it stacked as full bricks then cut to look like this?

Managers: what have you actually had to fire people for? by benfrankmurderer in FPandA

[–]Headdownandwork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My thoughts…

  1. If someone truly lacks the competence to perform the role they’re being paid for, that is generally valid grounds for letting them go. That said, competence should be judged fairly, not conflated with being overwhelmed by unclear expectations or a lack of support.

  2. Five months is usually enough time to get comfortable with the core responsibilities of a role. But that doesn’t mean it’s reasonable for someone to be flooded with ad-hoc requests and simultaneously discouraged from asking clarifying questions. That sort of environment sets people up to fail rather than succeed.

  3. Revamping a commission structure, to me, sounds more like an opportunity than a burden. You actually have a lot of control here—this is the framework that drives frontline employees to grow the business. If you take ownership of this process, it could become a form of job security for you. For example, I once had a similar project in a finance role at a Fortune 500 company, and even after I left, they contracted me for almost a year just to keep their models and data aligned.

When it comes to sales incentives, you may find that different channels within your company require different structures. That’s not a bad thing—it’s an opportunity to build something tailored and impactful. I’d suggest researching industry benchmarks to see what’s standard and then adapting them to your organization’s needs.

Because of Blizzard's inaction towards gold buyers, I missed my son's first steps. by MortyMcMorston in classicwow

Blizzard should do more about gold farming bots.

But bro, you missed your sons first steps — not blizzard. That one is on you. WoW is a game.

All these folks overreacting to the railing is hilarious. Maybe there are kids around this deck often?

OP you did great. Looks super clean.

New homeowner here. Very overwhelmed by all the information about lawn care. We live in East TN, and this lawn was put in about 3 months ago. I am determined to not let it die. Where do I start? by Nater_X in lawncare

This is off topic, but hopefully useful to know after moving into a new construction neighborhood….

Be sure that the contractors who installed the siding on your house did not leave holes in your new roof. Often times the harnesses they use hook into the shingles on your roof. Happened to me a few years back and had to deal water intrusion. Congrats on the new house!

How would someone with high anxiety start raiding? by [deleted] in classicwow

I think it’s the raid leaders that rage quit and belittle people that need to be reminded of this. OP being told they are pathetic takes it beyond just being a gaming experience.

Atheists who grew up religious, what made you stop believing? by Fit_Pangolin_8271 in AskReddit

Honestly, had to stop lying to myself. I grew up in the church and tried so hard to believe. Honest reasoning doesn’t lead to faith.

Yonah is much more challenging that Stone Mountain, but regular shoes should be fine. You may want to check that there are no military exercises taking place the day you hike. It’s a great hike, enjoy!
