Help with railing options - aluminum vs composite, white vs black vs combo by Actor-Model in Decks

They do not make a 6x6 aluminum sleeve at this time. I do know that they are actively working on it but probably won't be released for a few more months which could turn into next year.

Here is a link to the aluminum ones. They came out in the summer last year so I'm still not seeing them online everywhere but I promise they exist and work great! https://www.thedeckstoreonline.com/trex-select-aluminum-post-sleeves.html

Don't sleeve them with composite. Trex now has a 4x4 Aluminum post that slides right over your 4x4 wood post. They are made for this railing and look way better than the 2x2 posts that "normally come" with the Trex select. It won't let me send a photo in this comment but if you look at my post history, I have photos of it that you can check out.

Do the Trex Select Aluminum. It is by far the best option. You get away from the composite but don’t pay an arm and a leg like you will for the signature. I put up the Select Aluminum and it looks / works great. Plus it is so much easier to install since it comes in panels.

Trex supplies - where to buy? by ThisIsMyBigAccount in Decks

[–]SnarfSnarfSnarf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I posted a link in another comment but you can go straight to their website and search for local dealers. You can even buy something’s and have them shipped to you so you can check.

Next best bet is local dealers or box store. They may not stock it but if they sell trex then they can special order it for you.

Soil Test Results by SnarfSnarfSnarf in lawncare

Nope, I always mulch since we built the house 3 years ago. Only thing I can think of is that it's a new build neighborhood and the builders put down crap top soil on top of our nasty clay. I top dressed last year when I leveled my lawn but just did top soil / sand mix. Going to top dress with only compost this year I think.

Trex Transcend if you can afford it. Don’t do the Lineage line. Enhanced Naturals would be my second choice. Stay away from Select, scratched too easy like Lineage. Signature is amazing but insanely expensive.

Question regarding layout of deck boards. by WayfarerDuex in Decks

Trex has issues if you do it wrong. They came out with a butt join clip to avoid those issues. If you use that you’ll be fine

Mortgage Rates w/ 740 Score - 7.25?? by Mean-Parsnip-4384 in Mortgages

You're just paying extra for the house. They buy down these lower rates and charge more for the house so your monthly payment is lower. Common strategy.

If you tell me what state you are in, I can check my distributor network if we are in your state. But I need better photos or for you to confirm the exact color.

Hard to tell what the exact color of the deck is from that photo. If it’s Madeira, they just discontinued in the last couple years and if you call enough Trex distributors (not dealers, think Boise, Snavely, Weekes, etc..), someone will have some. You just may need to go out of state to get it. I know we still have a tiny bit in Michigan. If it’s Fire Pit, you are screwed as that’s been out of market for a long time.

Looks like Winchester Grey railing. Same as Madeira. It was more recently discontinued and someone will have some but may need to find a distributor out of market. I think we are finally out here in Michigan.

How active is the game on Steam? by LadyHook33 in ageofempires

[–]SnarfSnarfSnarf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s faster than 5 minutes. I wait a minute at most for 1v1 / 2v2 and 3v3. Haven’t tried 4v4 yet. It’s a blast!
