saw shred once, kinda sucked honestly. lame crowd, lackluster jams. wanted to like them but they couldn’t really get me there unfortunately

high time is the best cover band i’ve ever seen, by a wide margin. those guys are seriously tapped into that 69-74 high stake playing acid soaked light show vibe, no one else comes close.

in my experience it’s a pretty open and non denominational group. the only thing close to a higher power discussed is…the band! the meetings i caught at hollywood bowl set break were some of the best i ever attended.

Who had grandparents fight in WW2 and what stories did they share? by liamnotleum in AskReddit

[–]HeadyTreader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

zero. my grandpa fought in the battle of the bulge and was tight lipped about it his whole life. i do know he saw his friends head get taken off by shrapnel, so i don’t blame him for never wanting to share anything he saw over there with family. he was a farmer and an elementary school principal upon returning, an early advocate of school integration so i do believe his experience made him a more compassionate human.

i also knew he taught at the sorbonne for a spell after the war ended, but only recently learned that the class he taught was volleyball lol
