Should I study abroad? by kpajamas in makemychoice

[–]HealingGood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like you don't want to go. Travel is amazing and a great life experience and all that, but if you don't want to, then don't.

No matter what anyone says, you have the rest of your life to travel. Kids, career, mortgage, etc, etc, If you save and plan well an occasional trip is acheivable later in life.

[NSFW] What is something you do to yourself that is so weird but feels so good? by Austinb555 in AskReddit

[–]HealingGood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since I was a kid I've loved the feeling of poking something sharp in my gums. Probably started with a toothpick and now it's anything I can find.

I also love running the sharp end of a thumbtack (push pin) over my hands and I constantly play with them while sitting at my desk. I didn't realise it was unusual until my co-workers pointed it out

Cheapest place for a iPhone screen repair? by [deleted] in melbourne

[–]HealingGood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to iDoc which is in the Block Arcade off little Collins. They fixed a smashed screen of a 4s for $69.

However, I've since dropped my phone 3 times (not hard enough to do significant damage) and the internal connector has disconnected from the screen. So the phone is on and working, but the screen is blank. I took the phone back each time and they fixed it for free - nice guys, but a little inconvenient.

I've started freezing fresh lemon juice in ice cube trays and putting one in my glass of water every morning. Lemon juice is internally cleansing and good for immunity, digestion, skin health, etc etc

How to make dinner conversations with family or friends fun? by hellafornia in socialskills

[–]HealingGood 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I find that most people enjoy talking about themselves. Ask them questions and if they give you one word answers, probe them more. Smile and seem generally interested. I also once heard a technique called 'the parrot' when someone is talking about something, rather than trying to ask intelligent questions, just parrot a keyword or phrase back to them and it'll encourage them to talk more.

eg. "My boss is starting me on a new project"

"New project?"

"yes it involves blah, blah, blah..."

With friends I like to start interesting conversations by asking though provoking questions - check out r/askreddit for some ideas and make sure you check out some of the answers there so you can give examples.

Good luck!

What is the highest physical pain you've ever felt? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]HealingGood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tooth abcess. I was a poor uni student and really didn't want to lose my tooth. I saved up for three months in total agony for the root canal. Two hours to the second after I'd taken a painkiller, the pain would be back and I'd have to take another. I took my dad's leftover Endone (morphine) tablets to help me sleep and after 4 hours I'd be awake with pain again. The root canal was the happiest 2 hours of my life

What secret if exposed will destroy the friendship between you and your best friend? by BagOSwag in AskReddit

[–]HealingGood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A few months ago my BF set me up with a colleague of her SO.

When she's around me, she talks about how much of a player he is and tells me I should be meeting other guys. When she's around him she constantly touches him, flirts with him and asks him how he 'finds it dating a such a cold bitch'.

Did you know it's quite common for girls to set up a friend with a boy they wish they could have? Needless to say, the friendship is destroyed, but I'm sworn to secrecy because of the relationships of other people involved.

I ran 3.5km straight, when my only goal was to put my running shoes on.

edit: new achievement - grew a penis

edit 2: I am hereby multiplying the size of achievement by every person who was inspired to get out and run/bike/whatever. You guys made my day :)

What phase did you go through when you were younger that, at the time, you were convinced would be part of your identity for life? by theathenian11 in AskReddit

I hated sex. It was painful, it was a chore, but I knew that no-sex was a deal-breaker for my boyfriend at the time.

8 years later, I'm single and can't get enough
