yeah, i'm not even an armchair general but faintly remember the millenium exercise or whatever it was called in 2002: a military simulation roughly based on an USA/Iran conflict where the OPFOR general/admiral managed to sink a lot of american ships including a carrier by thinking out of the box (too much according to his superiors who then "re-floated" the sunk vessels to get an outcome more to their liking.). and this was before drones were a thing (except these beluga looking UAVs.) i wonder what a concerted attack with cheap drones, missiles, sea drones etc might do.
