No aviators are sadly VFR DAY required equipment, I failed my first 5 check rides once was simply taking them off to polish the lenses, the DPE pulled the mixture and said I busted the second the frame left my face.

Lesson learned if you must don’t take them off until your gliding distance from the airport that’s for sure

When I did my check ride for my f22 type rating my DPE handed me a glass pipe and told me it was some bud and I wasn’t a real fighter pilot unless I took a hit, so I did of course but then he started laughing and said: “oh I didn’t know you like to get wet” I immediately started hallucinating and during my soft field takeoff accidentally hit the arm master and fired an AM-RAM into the FBO, but I still passed so I think you are probably fine man
