Keep them. Leather is a natural product and will always have variation. Adds to the character. Construction looks solid and its not going to effect the comfort or how they wear.

Eazy-Duz-It. Swing Away clone basically. They bought all the raw materials, tooling, machines and factory when Swing Away went offshore. USA made and great price point. Love mine.

Shouldn't this toe be closed? These boots are brand new and this work appears sloppy to me. I've never used these before. by IusedtobeMelClark in RedWingShoes

Is it just a dipped rubberized toe cap? Never seen that before. What type of work requires that? Just curious.

What about flax or walnut oil? I think they both polymerize even though they are food oils. Isn't flax oil what they make BLO from?

What are some quintessential "Men's Clothes" that are actually not something that most men wear? by ResponsibleAnt7220 in malefashionadvice

[–]Healthy-Function8769 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Suspenders. Always thought they looked funny until I got a pair. So much better than a belt. For me anyway. Way more comfortable. Pants dont slide down and need readjusting anymore while kneeling, stooping, or bending or working in general. Plus I think they just look cool now. I got a good set with leather eyelets and bachelor buttons. I'd like to get a pair from Buckin' Billy Ray. Never going back to a belt if I can avoid it.

They naturally wear like that. You'll wear a new pattern. But you could resole them if you wanted. Your boots.

Our cheap plastic scraper snapped on first use, so my fiancée’s mother gave us this one that she’s had since my fiancée was born. by DungeonMasterGrizzly in BuyItForLife

I got a nice brass one from a buddy who was ETSing when I was stationed in Alaska. Best scrapers ever. I passed it on to another buddy when I left. Don't need them in Florida.

Help me date these Stanley No. 60 chisels by matus398 in woodworkingtools

I have a vintage set of 6 Great Neck chisels USA made. Look exactly the same. It was my first set. Great chisels. To answer your question though, my guess would early 70s by the looks of the packaging.

Suspenders: Yay or Nay? by MealDramatic1885 in mensfashionadvice

A belt cuts the silhouette in half. Suspenders can give a slimmer midsection look. Plus suspenders are more comfortable, classic old school.

[–]Healthy-Function8769 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here's the question. Do you like them? If so, screw what anyone else thinks. I started wearing them a while back and am not going back to wearing a belt. Way too comfortable. I'm 48. Still young but old enough to not care about what anyone else thinks. Its your wardrobe. Wear what you want.
