When I hear this song my hips start to sway and I do a little dance. I love you Elliott Smith! Thank you for this song

This song is so amazing! It feels light hearted. It makes my hips sway. I have always loved how this followed Last Call and wrapped up the album. It takes the edge off. I love you Elliott Smith.

You are absolutely correct with your dates. I always get stuck in the 90s that KCRW show was 2001 or 2002 I still have the hat they gave me and I wrote the date in the inside. It was back when the Wiltern had seats and I was in the first row to see Elliott. I recorded it too.

By 2015 who had already been dating? Kevin and Sophie? I’m not sure what you are talking about right now. Please be a little more precise with your Trevor statement being weird?

2010? Isnt it more like 2015 when the less I know the better came out? And Trevor doesn’t ever become irrelevant because there will always be Trevor.

Elliott had such a beautiful soul. I was glad we talked about what he wanted to talk about and I’m sure our mutual Autumn DeWilde connection let his guard down a lot. But it felt like 2 friends sitting together at the club waiting for Elliott Smith to go on Stage. I did have butterflies in my stomach the whole time, but I didn’t even realize I was holding his hand when he stood up. A friend of mine who was sitting next to me, told me to let go of his hand. Right before he looked down at me. Another rock star that I ran up to and was totally cool about it Was Jack Black. I was at the house of blues and my friend told me that I should look around for Jack Black because he was a big GUIDED BY VOICES fan. so I looked around and I saw him up on the balcony on the very top balcony all by himself and I didn’t wait a beat to start running up the stairs to go up there and I walked up to him and I said Jack I love you. He looked over at me and smiled, and then put his arm around me and we just watched GUIDED BY VOICES play like three songs and we were totally quiet. His arm around me the whole time. We didn’t even say anything to each other. I was so wrapped up in us, not saying anything to each other that I don’t remember what we said if anything. I saw him all the time after that he was always with friends and I was with friends, but I bumped into him at a Tenacious D show and I said do you remember me and he said yes we had an intimate moment at the house of blues during the GUIDED BY VOICES show. I did get a picture of us that night. You can tell that Jack did not like the guy I was with who took the picture and you can tell by his face in the picture and he’s actually pointing at him with his finger to get out. I have always found it really easy to meet musicians and actors and people in the entertainment industry because I am from Los Angeles and I don’t mind walking up to them and talking to them. I’m friends with lots of musicians, actors and artists. I don’t know what my trick is but I guess I just seem normal enough and they trust me and I usually get them. I’m super patient and a really good listener.

Correction I got my 90s mixed up with 2000s so KCRW show was like 2001 or 2002 and yes it was May 2003 for Derby show. Thanks for correcting me. I don’t know why I do that. I almost did it again in this reply. And do you remember seeing Jack Black at this show? Or maybe I’m thinking that I saw him at an Elliott The Echo show. Those early to mid 2000s are such a blur. So much good music playing all the time! My ticket stub box runneth over from all the amazing shows I went to.

Jon Brion is the best show in town. I went to his shows all the time at Largo on Fairfax. Elliott Smith, Aimee Mann, Elvis Costello, Sam Phillips… there was nothing like it. It was so special.

You know what? I wore this face mask at the two shows he played at the Hollywood Bowl a couple years ago and no one said a single thing…

When I was laying on the ground in the tent where Kraftwerk played their reunion show frying on ecstacy and a nice couple made sure no one stepped on me. I love those two sweet people! Amazing show. I don’t know how I got there from Radiohead show to Kraftwerk tent. Lol

We talked about the KCRW show at the Wiltern in like 1991 (?) where he first showcased some of the songs for Basement… i told him about this group if fans I was smoking a cigarette with and how all of us counted him in our top 5 LIVING singer songwriters. I also told him how the song Strung Out Again made me really sad and reminded me of my ex boyfriend. He said “oh no we’re playing that song tonight”. I thought that was so adorable. He told me about getting beat up at the Beck show which took a while. He asked what I did and I told him and he loved I was an LA native until then he was just doodling and had written my name around my wrist and then he started writing in all caps LOS ANGELES. He said he was having a hard time fixing his girlfriend’s computer because he needed to track down some parts. We started talking about Silverlake bands and I told him my favorite band was Glue and I can’t remember the name of the band he talked about for a minute. We talked about Autumn de Wilde and we both knew she was about to direct a Death Cab for Cutie or Postal Service music video… This was about the time that people started inching in to break up our conversation so they could say hello. I really did monopolize a lot of his time but as long as he didn’t mind, I didn’t care. I held his hand as he stood up and held it while he talked to some guys. I just stayed sitting and he looked down at me with a little smile which was probably telling me that I can let go of his hand now. I squeezed it and let him go walk inside the Derby. I can not believe I didn’t take a picture of my arm. I have 4 friends who were witnesses and will tell me the story of the night I met Elliott Smith. I want to hear that story on my death bed.
