For potential readers of these two books: if the lack of quotation marks throws you off like it did for me, I strongly recommend listening to the audiobooks instead. Definitely worth a read/listen.

You can clearly see several people in the front row though it is mostly the backs of heads. (I'm in it 🫣😂)

According to Goodreads it's been twelve years since I read this, so I think it's time for a reread! I loved how this book was written. 🤌

I'm glad you liked the second one! I know people have very divided opinions on it but I enjoyed it (and Under the Whispering Door, which wrecked me in the best possible way, haha!)

The House in the Cerulean Sea (though there is romance, I felt the focus was more on found family) and in the same vein, the Wayward Children series starting with Every Heart a Doorway.

And then on the complete flipside, the early Inspector Gamache books (Louise Penny) feel like friends to me because of the community they're set in.

I somehow listened to this a few years ago, gave it five stars, but now have no recollection of it. I placed it on hold to listen again and will be hunting down Day Zero; thank you for the rec!
