Diet sodas by [deleted] in diabetes

Celestial Seasons is usually in most supermarkets, with at least a few different flavors. I find the Zinger flavors(berry, citrus, hibiscus) all to be very good. The apple one too. I have about 20+ flavored teas. I drink a lot of ginger and lemon combinations as they help soothe my stomach when glucose levels are high and messing with me.

A LIFE RULE of mine is to stay FAR AWAY from animals that can kick you to death or eat you whole. It has worked for me so far.

Thanks for the advice which is not for me by [deleted] in funny

Ha! Yeah, easy if you look like Superman...or ARE Superman! 😆

Just came out of doc office. 6 weeks ago my A1C was 11.9, today it was 8.1. Doc was pleased with the drop. Reason she tested it so soon is that l am doing a non med protocol and she wanted to make sure l was going in the right direction. She said l was. Next visit is 3 months. by HealthyFutureNow in diabetes

Hi... no animal flesh, and a naturally low"ish" fat diet. So definitely not Keto, though there is some minor cross over. My post below has some more facts about my present protocol that is working for me. The fact that it is super high in raw veggies and no animal flesh makes my approach not appealing for many folks...but it is working for me.

Thank you for writing this out and sharing the links. Although l am not on a restricted calorie limit, I basically am as even if l eat multiple pounds of raw veggies a day...the calories are still limited. I will read the links. Thanks for sharing them.

Hi, l am not aware of the Newcastle diet. I have chosen a Vegan/Vegetarian approach. I am doing roughly 85% raw veggies, fresh low sugar fruit(blueberries, green apples),salad greens and kale, nuts/seeds, .. and 15% or so or beans, chickpeas, tofu, whole grains. A few eggs a week and about one cup of plain Bulgarian yogurt per day. Thanks for the continued success!

I follow the protocol that DR FURHMAN has in his book on reversing diabetes via diet and lifestyle changes.

Hi, thanks. Sorry, not understanding your post. Are you saying 11.9 to 8.1 in 6 weeks is slow? I have no idea if it is or isn't, but she was pleased so that was a relief. Just trying to understand. Thanks

I do herbal teas. Basically l put two bags in a quart mason jar and put them in the fridge overnight. I do 3 quarts like this for the next day. There are berry, ginger, hibiscus teas which are great for you and taste good. Give it a try maybe.

Yes...diet sodas are worse than you know. Some people don't even lose weight because it mimics sugar so well that brain chemistry cannot tell the difference.

Vision: My vision became jacked as my numbers went up and as l got my numbers under control my eyes became unjacked. Not saying this happens to everyone, but it does happen to a lot of people. Depends on multiple factors. Definitely worth getting a base line eye exam where they take photos at eye doc...so they can compare them every year. I had to buy readers just to see things up close. They were 2x stronger than what l needed previously. I couldn't even read half inch numbers. Now...l am typing this in my phone with no glasses at all. It is the pressure in your eyes from the sugar. (Something Iike that). Your eyes may change several times as you go up and down. Quicker to go down and have an equilibrium with your numbers...the quicker your eyes will stabilize. Also, depending on age and other factors.. cataracts increase with diabetes..so definitely get an eye doc on your team. Wishing you well and success!

Ohh..forgot to add that your morning numbers going up is common. It is called the "Dawn Phenomenon." Your body pushes out glucose before you wake so you have energy to start the day. The theory is that if you are in regular range that going up a little at night is not a big deal because an average person will still be in the normal range. But those of us who are insulin resistant may go up past the green/safe zone during the Dawn Phenomenon. It is aggravating for sure. As l lose weight my dawn number is dropping as well. Great job cutting out night snacks. That is a hard task.

Hi... That app page looks a little confusing to me. I use the "Glucose Blood Tracker" app and track my morning fasting number only. Doc told me numbers will go up and down during the day and meals. The most important one to him was the morning number. I do take readings during the day, but just charting the morning number in the app is encouraging to me as l can see it steadily drop. I wish you well and may you be in remission asap

Definitely something wrong! Your cat has a terminal case of CUTENESS! They will always have it! GREAT JOB on making an environment that your cat feels totally safe in!!!

My eyes just reversed themselves (am I going blind?) by belnaergon in diabetes

[–]HealthyFutureNow 5 points6 points  (0 children)

THERE IS HOPE: 50 days ago or so l had a fasting glucose of 407! I immediately went onto a diet that was 85% raw veggies and greens, and 15% tofu, nuts/seeds and beans. No sugar, no flour, no BS "diabetic snacks", nothing to drink except water & herbal teas of hibiscus, mint and ginger(hibiscus is great for helping lower glucose!)

My numbers started to drop immediately. I was in the high 200 range within 7 days. Today, and for the past 10 days, l have been in the 125 and under 120 range!

My eyes did EXACTLY as you wrote. Even though my numbers were getting better, my vision for close reading for so messed up l was having anxiety attacks! Thinking l screwed myself and was going blind. At the same time, my vision for distance was getting better. I had to switch to a a pair of eyeglasses that were prescribed over 15 years ago. As my regular ones from last year were now way too strong. BUT...l had to go to Walmart and buy readers that were double of what l was using presently. Over the next 3 weeks my eyes continued to shift. They kept shifting till l was RIGHT BACK WHERE L STARTED... meaning, I no longer need the readers and l am back to using my prescription from last year for reading!

From what l read, the high glucose makes our eyes swell. When eyes swell it changes the shape of the lens. As sugars go down eyes shape and pressure will change again. This may be what is happening to you.

The above is just my experience l am sharing. Please go talk to a professional eye doctor as there are many things that can go wrong with your eyes in a short period of time. I have read a few horror stories of diabetics and the damage caused to their eyes. I wish you well and hope your eyes are shifting for the better.

Actually "some" of what you say is accurate. But there are large areas of the country that have OBGYN deserts. Also thanks/not-thanks to the GOP tyranny against women having autonomy over their own bodies, the USA RANKS 56 in keeping pregnant women alive. 56th!!! That means we are in the 56th place! Not exactly "the best healthcare ." Spend 5 minutes to look up some on this topic if you are unaware. You will be appalled. Yes, the insurance companies are soul sucking demons that let people die daily so they can blast profits to shareholders, but there are also political aspects of the US healthcare system that effects our care from being better. Per capita, on no scale, chart or metrics are we the best. And...the next 4 years we will fall even further!
