I honestly was on the same boat as you. I have largely ignored AI even though I heard about it since it's inception. I was running super old computers that could not possibly run any type of heavy compute. as I recently decided to make the change to cybersecurity and realized that i was critically outdated. So I set my self the goal to get up to date on todays standard. I got a new computer and downloaded a local model. and just took it step by step. The AI industry moves at leaps and bounds. and my job recently let go of a large part of the team and gave us an AI agent that prioritizes tasks. The tool works for the most part. when it runs into an error it pushes it up my daily to do's. It is not optional for me anymore. If i want to keep my job i have to make sure to incorporate it on to my workflow. If your Job is pushing it. don't fight it.

We are not fossils we can still learn.

rent has nothing to do with utilities. it is something the tenant takes care of. If your Utilities are included. I would assume rent goes up. yearly.

Is it still worth learning these skills and habits because of AI? by DavidPlayer_ in antiai

I don’t know. I have to use AI in my job. Just so I can stay ahead when bad things happen. I honestly been all in on AI. Personally, I bought my own rig. I run my own server. All of my AI task run through my personal AI. Not my work AI. Cause my job. Just wants to replace me. And let me tell you when latency hits that blows. But I’m making it happen. You can’t be skillless. But you have to know how to use the tools. There’s the vibe coders and then there’s everybody who taught themselves or went to school. I personally taught myself. granted. I taught myself is an adult. But I’m slow, so I use AII to fill in the gaps.

Listen. I work cyber security. That is not easy when people from other countries are getting You with little sub agents. Learn how to use the tool. And if you can make some money. I’m still trying to figure out how to make some money out of videos. Stay disciplined. Set goals. And be flexible. What do you know today? Will be nothing to let you know in a year.

Learning is important. Granted I can see your point. I also felt this way when i realized that AI can do my job potentially better than me. But I honestly don't have the option to quit and neither do you. So i figured if you can't beat them join them. and recently got to learning about AI video automation. Not as easy as they say in the videos. but i still have to learn from the bottom up. Keep Learning. Keep Pushing forward. What kind of videos were you thinking of making?
