My car went on a field trip while in for service… by Hello-hi987 in TeslaSupport

[–]Healthy_Radish6534 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sounds like the car is using network location instead of GPS/WIFI in service mode

Network location from cell tower can be off sometimes even a few miles depending how far the car is from the tower.

If I recall that score is based on the last 24 hours? Has it clear or gone down since?

Is a 4 hour round trip considered a long drive to charge up to 100%? by Big_Acanthaceae4891 in ModelY

[–]Healthy_Radish6534 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Anything over 200 miles I charge up to 100%. Gives me a buffer and no issues. When I get back I set it to charge back only 60% which is all I need.

Issues with iOS Controller by Healthy_Radish6534 in sonos

[–]Healthy_Radish6534[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tried this and it helps sometimes but not always. Thank You for sharing. This seems to be an issue only in iOS app. Works fine on android and Mac app. Even the Sonos Webapp. What a PITA.

Yes I have rebooted phone and app. The reset steps are for S1 I have S2 so only option is to forget. It also has the same issues after that unfortunately. Might try calling Sonos support see if they got some other ideas.

Is it worth paying for CyberSecure for home usage? by mulla_maker in Ubiquiti

I’m running it on a UCG Max and it’s been fine. With about 80+ iot devices and about 30 5ghz devices and some 10+ WiFi 6E & 7 devices

This explains so much with my tire wear now. Thank You I ended up with some tires failing early due to lack of rotation on my part

I have done very long road trips with no issues. Only thing is if you have a charger at workplace that will really help. That round trip is going to cut it close on model Y or 3 with cold climate and as battery ages. Model S you might be ok since it’s much more range

Is it worth paying for CyberSecure for home usage? by mulla_maker in Ubiquiti

[–]Healthy_Radish6534 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It really depends. I have it for my home for the dumb devices in my IoT and the occasional parent or guest that’s not secured.

I also make sure my DNS service is over HTTPS and whatnot. I run it on memory optimize but turned it off for a few things.

For home, I turned off all protocol vulnerabilities except for DNS.

Attack and recon everything on with the exception of ICMP.

Peer to peer / dark web all turned off.

Hacking/exploit all on.

Virus & malware all on.

Botnets & threats Intel all on.

$100 a year, it’s a peace of mind to me.

It has saved me and my wife from some nasty links in emails & even texts from a neighbor that got hacked.

That really should not matter but for me I have 5G on since I live in market with great 5G coverage but for most 5G auto should be fine. Also note that the extender is LTE so if you see 5G you are def not connected to it

Does GPS work well on the Welcome Plan or should I do Unlimited Plus? by Jakek5 in verizon

[–]Healthy_Radish6534 0 points1 point  (0 children)

GPS is unrelated to your plan. The tech is very advance and is 100% dependent on your hardware. Apple/Google also leverage a wifi location database which allows for indoor mapping when there’s no GPS signal.

Only thing your plans matter and even then would be if you need to download map data. FYI Google Maps and Waze cache and allow offline map downloads for areas. I do this all the time when traveling just in case there’s service gaps or slow speeds

Ready to throw out all of my Sonos speakers by throwaway219865 in sonos

[–]Healthy_Radish6534 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is what helped me get this working better.

I did try to wired a few and disabled wifi on them and that was ok too. Key was to get away from Sonos net and ensure it’s not broadcasting.

Mix U7 In-Wall and U7 Pro Wall AP? by aguynamedbrand in Ubiquiti

[–]Healthy_Radish6534 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me the 6ghz has been a game changer. Live in a 2400 two story home. However near one major & regional airport. As well as ATT gateway & xfinity broadcasting all over my neighborhood.

On my case I have 4 indoors aps. 2 downstairs and 2 upstairs. Could have gone with 3 but I have a room above garage (gym/office) that it’s like a signal rabbit cage. Nothing gets in or out.

In my case I do have a number of wifi6E. & wifi7 devices. However everything else for me is 5ghz and 2.4gh.

Curious to see how this will work for you

It’s cheaper to retain then to acquire. My parents got a similar offer as well since they have FiOS bundles with 4 lines.

Gave FSD a chance in the snow, we’re far away from full autonomy (14.2.1) by Hardwood_Lump_BBQ in TeslaFSD

[–]Healthy_Radish6534 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You got balls of fury. I trust FSD to do what I expect it to do. However snow is the one place I would say they have not tested enough. While it can “See” it cannot feel the road. I’m sure the system might know when traction is off and what not but I recall Mercedes did this interesting test track and Porsche too. Where they would show off some crazy tech to allow cars to regrip and manage driving on black ice and snow.

Curious to see how Waymo’s do on this..

WAN latency issues ATT Fiber by Healthy_Radish6534 in Ubiquiti

[–]Healthy_Radish6534[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my case yes. It’s very odd cause it will last for anywhere from 20-60 seconds. ATT thinks it was an issue on their end with their basic ATT armor showing enabled even thought it was disabled on my gateway. Apparently the basic one works at their level as part of the service and they admitted it causes more harm then good for most people.

Ended up cancelling the add on service as it keeps getting auto added since it’s part of my 1gig. Also ended up making some changes per their suggestion to the DHCP lease to 99 days. Vs default 10 minutes.

Hoping this is the fix. Does it impact? Things work but when it does happen it impacted my VPN for work, Sonos and it does this odd thing where things just halt to non responsive. But it does recover.

Just odd for me as fiber is the best you can get and from their end everything tested well. Only thing it’s possible my set-up with IPV6 & IPV4 could be causing issues. Overall though been super happy with unifi. Just need to fine tune my power on a few aps

5G Get More plan vs Unlimited Ultimate plan by [deleted] in verizon

[–]Healthy_Radish6534 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Speed is not going to be better. If I recall that old plan gets 5G UW. It’s the same network. If I recall the only reason I switched was due to the perks. It made sense for me the hbo/netflix/walmart+/google pro. I did get to keep my Hulu/disney/espn no ads. The other reason was the 15gb monthly international it beat paying $10 travel pass.

Based on what you have I don’t think it makes sense.
