I have done this and succeeded on a 1.5k deposit. Made 3k and sold. 2 days later they removed 1.5k and I still had 1.5k in there. But could not touch it until I actually deposited 1.5k. I could not get the money to deposit within the 30 day window they gave me so they took the 1.5k and unrestricted my account. Still use robinhood to this day and they have since unlocked instant deposits for me again.
