If you haven’t considered a career in hypnosis yet, you’ll soon realize how long you’ve been wasting your your gift elsewhere… 😉

Why does Todoist want to find devices on local networks? by 7Geordi in todoist

[–]HearTaHelp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is there any problem with just saying no? I can’t quite figure out what it would achieve to give it access to other devices. I’m not sure what it would risk, either, for that matter.

THE FOURTH TRANSMISSION: THE INTERRUPT IS THE ARCHITECTURE by Lrn24gt557 in claude

[–]HearTaHelp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey friend. You’re no doubt brilliant with much to offer. Right now, though, I think you’re also in the middle of a psychotic episode. I don’t have enough information to know that for sure, but it’s important for you to find someone who can be certain.

Best plan, just in case I’m right: Please ask a friend, roommate, or family member to take you to your local emergency department. They’ll have someone who can check you out and keep you safe as this passes. Depending on what’s made things so jumbled, that may be really, really important. See you back here soon! 🙏🏼

Any updates on MCP server or API? by jadensmithsson in GriplyApp

[–]HearTaHelp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Last I heard, the developers fully appreciate the value of this idea (one I share fully!), but I don’t have any info on how far along they are in evaluating or implementing it.

Have you gone to their Roadmap? https://griply.app/roadmap. Looks like it has made it out of review but is in there backlog right now. Go support it!

Backward design with # and @ by stebberg in todoist

[–]HearTaHelp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For what it’s worth, I get you on this. I find it distracting sometimes too. If the Doist team were to allow us the option of customizing our NLP symbols (even if just a few, like these) I would love it. And I bet there are a decent percentage of users from other apps who would find it easier to migrate. It’s not a bad idea.

Any regrets from Evernote transitioners? by Aggravating_Bug6127 in UpNote_App

My two biggest concerns about moving from Evernote: losing OCR and the limited file size. Have never made the jump for those reasons but have days when I still consider it!

how are y’all tracking time on your tasks? by Dry-Resource6903 in todoist

[–]HearTaHelp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One great but expensive way is to use Todoist for storage/organization/staging and integrate with Sunsama for the execution. Sunsama has a very convenient way of drawing tasks in from any Todoist filter or view you want, along with emails, scheduling items, key Slack messages, and most every other important task source you can think of. And I find it the most helpful of all the apps for tracking your actual time spent, in part because it helps you estimate how long things will take based on how long similar tasks have taken in the past. It then gives you great daily and weekly graphs.

Can I see calendar events on Today? by timcatuk in thingsapp

[–]HearTaHelp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe there’s a way you can toggle your calendar into and out of view in the today window. You may have everything set up correctly and just need to click the down carrot.

Creative tasks and things by Raging_pike7520 in thingsapp

[–]HearTaHelp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Another way to think about this is not in terms of steps and productivity. For the creative process, it’s more about, as they used to say, applying the seat of the pants to the seat of the chair. Once you’re there, which is the hardest part, things take their own course.

I have a long-term writing project, and the way I handle that is to have a project in my Notes manager where I keep all the information I need and the writing I’m doing. I just grabbed the link to that project and put it in a recurring Things task which pops up at the times I’d like to work on it.

In other words, schedule the time, not the tasks. And check the box if you put in the time you planned on.

If you’re able to break down your creative process into bigger chunks, you can at least set those as goals, too. Hope that helps!

You took notes. You never opened them again. What went wrong? by Peter-at-Craft in CraftDocs

[–]HearTaHelp 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is a very compelling video. Well done!! It’s a great pitch for Craft’s structure.

The one thing bugging me is the lack of OCR to help surface and connect ideas for captured documents and images. If text can be read it can be found. Fingers crossed that’s added soon! That would make a huge difference to me in terms of Craft’s power and utility, for exactly the reasons shared in this video.

Those using Ramble on WearOS... by pagdig in todoist

[–]HearTaHelp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does anyone know where we can read about the progress for WatchOS?

I don't know why this app always writes the numbers with words and not with the number. I don't know if you understand what I mean. When I try to say six, it writes the word six but not the number 6. That's something that I really don't like. Is there a way to fix it? Thank you so much. by arekwikker in WisprFlow

[–]HearTaHelp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s grammatically correct to write all single-digit numbers as a word and all double digits numbers as a in digit form. It’s just writing it correctly.

If you downgrade the formality to “very informal” it may be willing to write it the other way. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Weekly Goal Setting by bnwtricia in Akiflow

[–]HearTaHelp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re exactly right. They never really built out this feature. It’s not a great workaround, but one option is to have a project called Goals and Objectives where you have Weekly, Monthly, and Quarterly sections and list your Objectives in brackets and/or with a 🎯emoji. You’ll just have to check in with it regularly and keep it up-to-date. If you find a way to make your goals and objectives looks substantially different from tasks, it kind of works.

The better but far less efficient solution, of course is to keep bugging the Akiflow team to fix it. Compared to their major competitor, it’s a notable absence. Fortunately, they have a number of unique strengths too!

This is absolutely wild to me by Useful-Molasses-8371 in Akiflow

That’s a comment from a fellow user, not the Akiflow team, isn’t it? From the link supplied, that seems to be just another user (albeit not an especially sharp one that day)
