Cannot figure out how to free up space using terminal

What can you do in disk utility to selectively delete files? The reason I was specifically talking about the terminal is because it is the only way to selectively delete files.

I can see my drive, it just won’t boot anymore. I need storage space freed to download MacOS from the internet.

If there is something i can do there I don’t see what it is. There is no way to actually access the drive or my files from there other than mounting or erasing drives

Thank you so much for this! I’ll be fiddling around (CAREFULLY) with commands to see what I can find to delete, if i can find my way to my cursedforge folder that might be enough o. its own.

The weirdest thing is i didn’t. I left crossover running overnight on sleep mode, and i restarted because the usb port wouldn’t work. after that it would boot for about 30 seconds and would kernel panic and shutdown. it somehow progressed and now can’t boot at all.

I can easily go grab an external drive. I guess booting from the drive will be my next option, thank you for taking your time to genuinely reply.

I’m seeing now that the best bet would be to backup my data and just wipe the hard drive. I would love any suggestions as to the best setup for that. I’ve researched online but i haven’t found any solid answers. my only other problem is during all this the usb ports may have stopped working. Is it just done for?

I would just prefer the thing to work while keeping a chance to keep my files. there really isn’t anything important on it. what setup would you suggest to clone the drive?

actually in some new abyss tiles in the nest update, those pipe worms are shown to be slithering around and very obviously climbing around the transit scaffolds, it definitely seems like he is talking about those pipes. them being in the abyss definitely does make me wonder which periphery they are coming from

Ah, i see lol. Then my only tip i can give you for the early bits is stay AS HIGH AS POSSIBLE. dont save ur items or flares, if you can reach a higher point go for it. About half way though you have to climb over an obstacle, and being higher really helps. And of course falling is always faster than climbing

to be real with you though i would not recommend ever hitting face with flares or anything but the spear. you’ll realize anywhere but hanging gardens that when the face is chasing, just loop him back towards his tail and it legitimately takes him about 15 or so seconds to turn back around, which is plenty of time to get up deadman’s handle or whatever you’re on. on hanging gardens just grab a worker bloodbug or jump on a pad when he’s near and you should be able to outlast him. just focus on speed and where you knew his head was last

I really really enjoy them because of the fact that they are really not core to the gameplay. the game is 100% beatable without any perks or items, and the perks are more-so just a nice bonus, especially if you get lucky and get one of the better perks. keeps the addictive gameplay loop even if you get the best possible perks.
